Disappointing Experience with Rude Server

I stopped by this Waffle House on Old National in College Park, GA while traveling home from another state—just needed a quick restroom break and was more than willing to make a purchase. Unfortunately, I was met with a very rude and unprofessional server named Valencia.

There was a cart blocking the restroom, so I kindly asked if I could use it. Her immediate response was “No.” I then asked if I could at least make a purchase, and she said, “No, you can't just buy a drink.” I was honestly shocked. I’ve worked in customer service before, and one thing you never do is turn away someone willing to spend money in a business—especially not with that kind of attitude.

She then proceeded to say, “Y’all always come in here and just want to use the restroom.” I let her know this was my first time ever walking into this location and I had no problem buying something. Despite that, she told me I’d have to wait until she served another table and brought them their drinks before she could ring me up.

I ended up waiting about 8 minutes until a manager came out. I explained the situation, and thankfully he was kind, understanding, and walked me to the restroom himself. He was very apologetic, which I appreciated.

I don’t know if Valencia was having a bad day, but the way she treated me was completely unnecessary and uncalled for. That type of energy doesn’t belong in customer service, especially in a business where people are simply looking for a little...

There were no clean stations available upon our arrival at this location. We were told that a booth would be cleaned and made available for us after she finished ringing up a customer. We said okay and politely waited. While we were patiently waiting for the booth to be made available for our usage, a group of three persons arrived after us and usurped the booth while we were patiently waiting for it to be cleared for our usage. This group was seated by the staffer who had promised us the booth. Oh by the way, there were no disabled persons in the group, nor were there any children. After they were seated and their orders was taken, the wait staff person proceeded to clear another booth for our use. She did not acknowledge what had just proceeded. I wanted to leave after being slighted in that eating establishment. But the person who accompanied me to this Waffle House was accommodating of this faux pas in hospitality. The experience at this Waffle House was so horrible that my family had to get up and walk out. We asked our server for our drinks after ordering and waiting over 15 minutes, she told us she was trying to get her carry out customers out first. Then our orders started coming to the table, keep in mind still no drinks. The first order was wrong, there was no bacon on the bacon Patty melt, the cook got upset to the point he even cursed. At that point we decided to leave. I found the number for the restaurant to call for a manager, after removing ourself before anything further occurred. I spoke to someone whom said she was a manager name Victoria. I explained the summed up story above and she apologized. I also advised we are from out of town and chose this restaurant for a breakfast.
