For starters, I would like to say that the couple of staff members I encountered during my stay were courteous and completely professional. However, I would rate my overall experience to be very, very sub-par in comparison to some of the stays I've had with some of your direct competitors. For 1, I purchased a "Romance Package" directly from your website. The package was to include a bottle of champagne and some chocolates awaiting for me and my wife in our room. I checked in via the mobile app and input my arrival time at 8:00 PM. We arrived exactly at 8:00 PM after a couple hour drive and according to our check in paperwork, we were checked in at 8:05. Check in was fast, and easy. But when I go into our room, there were no chocolates and also no champagne. I went back to the front desk and the associate apologized, went to the back and got me a bottle of champagne but no chocolates. I had to walk back to my room with a room temperature bottle of champagne and no chocolates in hand as I was told to wait a moment while she gets a bucket with ice. I make it into my room with a warm bottle of champagne and had to explain to my wife why I had to leave the room and that we were supposed to have champagne and chocolates awaiting us but they must have forgot. I then said that they were coming with a bucket with ice. Even if we wanted to drink the warm champagne, we couldn't because we didn't have glasses to pour it into either. We got the bucket, ice, and glasses approximately 10 minutes later. So since we couldn't have a toast or some chocolates due to not having any chocolates and a warm bottle of champagne, we left to go somewhere for dinner. After dinner we came back and did some swimming. After swimming, we went back to our room to enjoy a hot bath in the whirlpool tub that we specifically came to this hotel for. We got it filled, turned on the jets and sat in. Her side had fully adjustable jets, but my side didn't. There was a knob to adjust the intensity of the jets, but it was stuck in place so it couldn't be adjusted. The exhaust fan above the tub also was not working, so when we were finished bathing the mirrors and windows were extremely fogged up. It was so humid and uncomfortable in our room that I had to open our window as far as it would let me and cranked up the AC. Eventually the room returned back to normal, and we were able to go to sleep. Our room had a king sized bed, it was comfortable but there looked to be chocolate stains or...
Read moreEasy and very professional telephone reservation. Very quick and easy in-person check-in by a wonderful front-desk team. The property presents well from the outside and looks very well-kept overall. There is plenty of parking. It is super-convenient to have two great restaurants only 100-steps away, in the same parking lot area. The inside of the hotel is showing signs of a little wear and tear, some of which should be addressed sooner than later. There are a few areas that would benefit from a little touch-up paint or just a little bit of elbow grease. Overall however, the property is appealing to the eye. The open lounge area is situated between the front desk area and The Bistro. It is a terrific and very comfortable gathering place to meet friends or to just chill and have a libation or a snack. There is only one elevator shaft in the hotel and oh brother, it is uncomfortably slow. I stayed in room 303, which is on the top floor and the second to last room from the stairwell. The room was very quiet indeed, despite the fact that it faces four lanes of busy traffic. I could only hear emergency vehicles passing by, but I never heard the traffic. That was VERY nice. The room itself was very spacious and well appointed. It looked pretty spiffy, actually! The bathroom, well, I'll just be blunt and put it out there. It was not cleaned properly in the toilet/shower/tub area. The sink area, which is a separate compartment from the loo and tub, was cleaned nicely and presented well. The housekeeping team must make it a point to get into the corners and along the baseboards. No one wants to sit on the loo and see someone elses hair and funk on the floor. Yuk! It's the little things like this that can spoil an otherwise excellent stay. The housekeeping staff, while very polite and personable, were in the morning, SUPER LOUD and completely unabashed about talking to each other over the roar of the vacuum cleaner. Twice in two days, they parked their cleaning kart directly in front of my door, prohibiting easy egress. I had to move the kart (gross!) and step around it to exit my room. I imagine these few things should be an easy fix for the management. Thankfully, the rest of my stay was very pleasant. Everyone working The Bistro was absolutely amazing! Both of the girls who were on shift while I was there could not have been more professional and just overall super down-home sweet. I highly recommend this hotel. I...
Read moreSomeone else posted a 1-star review a month before I stayed here: I wish I would have read that before booking this place. First, the lobby smelled like sad, hotel pool. No idea where the pool was. Was there a pool? Got in after a long flight and wanted some ice for my water bottle: both ice machines on two different floors are broken. Okay. Turned on the light when I walk into and it’s some weird lamp that mainly lights the area by the door. Used that light, and turned on the bathroom light, to find a switch to light up the rest of the cave. Nope: just a small desk lamp and two tiny bedside lamps, each with their own individual switch. TV all to myself and it looks like they offer a lot of free streaming services: nope, you can only access Netflix and you have to sign in with your o personal account info—on a hotel room TV. No thanks. Took a shower and the tub immediately filled with water because the drain was slow/clogged. So, my feet got a nice dirty water bath. There’s no real clock in the room which sucks when you have early wakeups, are groggy, and trying to keep track of time getting ready. The room had a super basic, single serving coffee maker, but the coffee came out smelling mildewey so I figured I get real coffee somewhere else. They have a “bar” but it’s also a pretend Starbucks. So, obviously no free coffee in the morning. Before I left for the day, I wandered over just to check the prices and menu, and waited to see who showed up. There was already another customer sitting at the bar having a cup of coffee watching TV on their phone. Waited a couple minutes…took it as a sign to grab coffee somewhere else and realize the other customer was actually the cashier/barista. Took that as a sign maybe the shop wasn’t open yet…? The best part was the morning I left: I was packing and moved my roller bag around, hopped in the shower for my foot bath, and there’s a knock on the door. Instead of calling, a manager came to my room to tell me the person below me called about me making too much noise. Just regular, standard pack to check out noise, not some weird early morning jumping jacks. So, if you have to stay here, I guess stay on the top floor…? And do not get an even number room unless you want a great view of a dumpster. If you’re a Marriott person, regardless of where you’re going while you’re in town, stay at any...
