Originally went there for fleece since I wanted to make my friend a blanket for her new baby. Went there with my kids and we were looking through every aisle and were there for quite some time just checking the store and all of their crafts. Went into the section with the markers and started testing out the markers since there was a tester pad there. Had what look like a woman/supervisor come up to me and asked if I need anything. There was another woman there in that aisle but found it weird since I was a woman of color (mixed) that she didn’t ask that woman any questions but wanted to question me and my children. I told her yes that I was looking for fleece and she said with an attitude that they don’t sell fleece there. I tried not to take it the wrong way but it has bothered me since. If I needed help to begin with, I would of definitely had asked.. was even in the aisle longer because I noticed a woman needed help and was waiting for like 10 minutes for someone to help her get a huge canvas up the shelf. No one offered to help her but me, yet these “workers” came up to me if I needed anything? Why not ask the woman that was waiting for like 10 minutes on someone to help her with a canvas?? Then went to checkout at the register, there was a Caucasian woman with shoulder length blonde hair there and I tried being nice making conversation with her. She just kept having an attitude and ignoring me. I just paid for my yarn and left. I’ll NEVER in my life go to that Michael’s again. Trust and believe, my children and I have no need to steal lol my bf and I make way more money than this whole store combined. It’s funny how people are so prejudice when not knowing the background of people but they want to sit there and go off of our skin color and what we wear. I DO NOT recommend this Michael’s unless you want to be followed and harassed. Will be calling corporate tomorrow. I’m not the one to let something like this slide and woman in the front definitely must of counted her blessings because I was 2 seconds of going off and hurting...
Read moreI have shopped here for years. I buy most of my art supplies, canvases and frames from here.I went into the store on Monday 29th July after a visit to my dentist. I thought I would reward myself with a little shopping trip to Michaels. I was in the second aisle from the front of the store and an employee came up to me. She said, in a loud voice. "You are trespassing on the store and you have been told to leave before so I have to ask you to leave". I looked at her like she had grown another head. "What on earth are you talking about? i have never been asked to leave anywhere, ever. I'm shopping." "NO, you have to leave, you are trespassing on the store." I was just shocked. I didn't know what to say. Meanwhile, a crowd was gathering, pointing and laughing. I was so embarrassed. I asked this employee to take me to the manager and she said, "Well I am a manager." This left me just stunned. I asked her who told her I had been asked to leave, and she pointed up toward the registers, "Oh she did." So I went up front to where she was pointing. She marched behind me. Everyone staring ad pointing. The employee up front immediately said, "Oh no, that's not her! The girl I meant you to talk to had a pony tail! "Oh sooooorry!" At this point I was trying really hard not to cry. I told her that she had publicly humiliated me and that i would never set foot in there again. I ran to my car and cried my eyes out. I am a 58 year old business owner. Well known in Colorado Springs. This is completely unacceptable to treat a loyal customer this way. I called Michaels corporate office and told them what happened. They were shocked and said they would get back to me. They have not. I emailed them too. They have also ignored that. I am disgusted that they have a manager treat me this way. It was traumatic and incredibly humiliating to be treated like some kind of a criminal in public . I will never shop there again, nor will my friends. We don't matter to a huge corporation like...
Read moreTook less than 2 minutes to remember why I rarely go into this store anymore! I walked in the door and a female store employee cut me off to grab herself a shopping cart. After waiting for the employee I then got myself a cart and as I turned around with the cart I realized the same employee was 2 feet from me and was blocking the whole entrance with herself and her cart. Apparently there was something she felt she had to do right that second, so after waiting for her to walk to the door not once but twice forcing me to wait for her to be done, I was finally able to continue through the store. Not only did the employee not say excuse me or sorry to me she literally didn't even acknowledge that I was even there. I did walk a little ways through the store but I had already decided after that beginning I wouldn't be purchasing anything from the store and decided to leave. I have been seeing this trend at several businesses since COVID, and I refuse to be a participant to such rude behavior! Doesn't anyone realize that without customers they won't have a job and the businesses will close down. We pay ridiculous prices for everything these days and then we have to deal with rude employees too!! Sorry not going to happen! I will take my money elsewhere. Date of attempted shopping: 12-7-23, it had been 11 months since the last time I went to this store and I imagine it will be at least that long before I go back...
