This is the absolute worst place to stay in Columbia. The listing stated self check in, which was the entire reason we booked this place. Our plans did not allow for us to meet your typical check in timelines as our entire reason for visiting Columbia was to attend the spring game, and spring game festivities. We even messaged the owner ahead of time to verify being able to park our car there earlier than check in and walking to the stadium. We were told this would be no problem. |Once we arrive and parked we began our 45 min walk to the stadium. 30 minutes into it at 1:30pm on the day of "check in" we received a message stating we had to go to a completely different address between the times of 4pm-10pm to provide ID and receive our code and instructions.|We immediately called the owner and explained that we booked because it said self check in and that this would not be possible for us. He made NO attempt to accommodate us aside from meeting us 30 minutes earlier, which did not help us at all. He then tried to tell us we would be done with the game by 10 and could make it. The game finished around 9:40 and it was a 45 minute walk back to the place.... even Ubers were taking longer due to the traffic.|His answer was that the room had very specific instructions that we needed to be given, and we were not allowed to just check in ourselves, regardless of what the listing stated. Our entire day was ruined because we had to find somewhere else to stay where we could check in earlier, missing things we had tickets to and having to spend extra money. He refuses to give us a refund regardless of the fact that his listing was inaccurate, misleading, and a downright scam.||Avoid this place...
Read moreThis was our second time staying here! It's such a beautiful place with incredible art and design touches in an old converted airplane hangar. Inside is pristine with the old original concrete floors buffed smooth for bare feet. The furniture is comfortable and it's very peaceful and quiet inside and out on the patio. The beds are very comfy and I love the big soaking tub in the middle of the bedroom. We love the aviation related design and architecture.
It's walkable to Hunter-Gather Brewery at the historic Curtis Wright Hangar and to The Farmhouse at City Roots, which hosts dinners and wine tastings on various nights each week. Downtown Columbia is only a 10-minute drive where there is PLENTY to see, do, and eat. It is also near the stadium if you are in town for a game.
The location is quiet and safe. Overhead, the occasional small planes do take off and land from Owens Field sometimes and they are really neat to watch. We watched a 1947 Piper J3 Cub doing touch and goes from the rooftop dining at Hunter-Gatherer. We love this 007 suite and can't wait to go back during...
Read moreMy wife and I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Hangar Lofts Hotel while visiting our daughter at USC, and it was a great experience. As soon as we stepped into our room, we were struck by its unique style and modern aesthetic. The blend of contemporary design with historic elements really created an atmosphere that set the tone for a memorable stay. The loft-style room was spacious and clean, and the attention to detail in the decor, from the sleek furnishings to the artistic touches, were unique compared to any other place we've stayed before. We particularly appreciated the well-equipped kitchenette, which was perfect for fixing a quiet meal in the room. The hotel's location is ideal as well—conveniently close by to downtown Columbia. Overall, The Hangar Lofts Hotel exceeded our expectations. It’s a gem in Columbia! We highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area and look forward to returning for another stay in the...
