I was an employee at this store because of a desire to live healthy and meet good people. It wasn't about a paycheck for me. I feel it's my duty to share my experience here so future members of the community with a willingness to contribute should know in advance of the inability to ask for a day off (even if their mother who is currently in her 4th year of severe alzheimers needed assistance)as well as the seemingly allowance of a hostile work environment.i was terminated because I asked if I could have a day off and provided 3 different days I could do what I needed to get done as well as mention that if I did need to quit that I would respectfully put in a two weeks notice. The kitchen at this location was extremely unorganized and the assistant manager was the only person with any sort of logical advice but this person is basically ignored by his superiors. I came to work everyday with a smile on my face and a willingness to work but was on multiple occasions harrassed by another employee but was told over and over "we dont know what to do" or "yall can figure it out." The harrassment was not only unprovoked but this person was told I dont care to fight and even ignored which seemed go upset them more that they weren't getting a reaction out of me. The superiors had the opportunity on many occasions to rewatch any security camera footage which would clearly show them that this person would not only cut corners but literally get in people's faces while they tried to work and ignore his outbursts but they spoke openly about no desire of pulling any footage and that I should do this or that differently as if they didn't even believe the things I was saying. I was never formally trained and the person who did train me taught me lots of wrong information but I still was able to operate the kitchen alone and get the job done and customer happy each and every time. I sincerely hope the customers I served noticed my desire to give them more than quality service because it was my motivation each day, but for people who go at great lengths to live in harmony to shop somewhere that an employee is noticeably upset each day and doesn't provide proper information for what they eat is wrong. Allowing someone to be harrassed in your business is wrong. Not giving your employees who come in on their days off and has a desire to learn and work hard a single day off is wrong. I feel it's my duty to make this aware to those people who could potentially be treated how I was. My voice may not mean much to them and the other departments in this store I am sure do a wonderful job so do not think this is directed at anyone other than the kitchen/deli end. And I do not wish bad things upon this store because I think they have a great message for others but I do know that what happened to me was wrong and the treatment I received from somewhere I was willing to offer my skills for less than I would accept anywhere else WAS WRONG. I urge all customers to double check their questions with someone because from personal experience due to the superiors inability to manage, many employees have wrong information and are being punished for something another person should be held accountable for. If you dont believe me just ask them if the salmon is wild or farm raised. I was laughed at for saying a fish could be raised on a farm by the same employee who harrassed me because fish can't survive on a farm and that I didn't even know what I was saying........ make your own judgements but there's no harm...
Read moreI completely understand being passionate about a cause and your convictions. As well, I am all about consistency in one’s behavior when It comes to protecting our environment. After all, I am a mother with young children and with any luck will live to see me grandchildren and the generation that follows. However, is it necessary for the cashiers - one cashier in particular with a short pixie silver white hair cut- to be egregiously rude while informing you that this establishment no longer provides plastic bags for their patrons. To add insult to injury,, she behaves as if you have committed a criminal offense when you inquire about the paper bags sitting in a noticeably large stack within everyone’s view.. Her, response to your request for one is “There will be a charge!” Charges are fair, but the tone and disposition she embodies while notifying you is not. In fact, it is unacceptable and can only be compared to the lecture one might receive when one returns home with hickies all over one ‘s neck after breaking curfew while informing your mother you fully intend to run away with your weed smoking unemployed ex-con boyfriend . When did bagging groceries become so serious? Rosewood market used to be my favorite place to eat when I wanted something healthy and to feel good about my diet and the environment: I no longer shop here as a result this...
Read moreBeware if you are sensitive to fragrances and chemicals: this store has a horrible fragranced smell throughout the store and it saturates most products.
First off, I used to shop here all the time and loved the idea of shopping locally. Their local produce selection has drastically decreased as of late which is a bummer, but the main reason I am writing a review today is because the store has an absolutely horrible stench throughout the store. The last time I was in the store I actually got a headache and felt insanely dizzy from the fragrance, I had to step outside to fresh air to feel better again. The past few times I’ve gone home with a few products, put them away in the fridge and when I take them out several days later they are completely SATURATED with this smell still.
I’d ask the business to be more considerate to shoppers that are allergic to fragrances and chemical scents... hypoallergenic cleaning products exist for a reason and getting a migraine halfway through your shopping is a really negative...
