Sour & Salt Bakery — Restaurant in Columbia

Was looking on the online menu and saw they had pasta salad. The ingredients weren’t listed so I called to ask if it was vegetarian. They said “what pasta salad??” And when I listed the name right off their website they said curtly “oh we are out of that.” You definitely should have that info on there. I place an order for one bagel and one baguette. I receive an email that the order is ready. I walk in and a rude manager woman says “can I help you?” I say I have an online order and she just shrugs and yells at someone in the back to do something about it. Another employee comes over and says he’s been here two days. He gives me a bagel. I say uh there’s a baguette also. Then he goes asking others to help him but the manager tells him rudely that she’s counting money and can’t help. He looks all over for a bag to carry the baguette in. In the end I get a bag with the bagguette exposed but I can’t stand up anymore (I normally don’t enter businesses until they say it’s ready because with my disability standing for a long time is difficult. That’s why it’s so frustrating that this was not actually read). There is not a single place to sit down. The manager just keeps loudly counting the money talking about how successful they’ve been today while I’m in pain and have been waiting a long time for the poor two day experienced employee to figure everything out on his own. I recently had the pleasure of ordering a coconut cream pie from Sour & Salt Bakery, and I can't express how grateful I am for their exceptional service! Even though coconut cream pie isn’t on their regular menu, the staff went out of their way to accommodate my special request.

From my very first call, the team was incredibly kind and attentive. They made sure to call me back the same day, which really impressed me and made the process so smooth. When I arrived to pick up my order, I was blown away by how beautiful all the baked goods looked.

I also want to highlight their cookies—absolutely delicious! Each bite was a treat, and it's clear that they put a lot of love into their baking.

Thanks to Sour & Salt Bakery, my husband’s birthday was truly special. He has been craving a coconut cream pie for quite some time, and they made it happen! I wholeheartedly recommend this bakery to anyone looking for fantastic baked goods and outstanding customer service. I will definitely be returning and spreading the word...

Ordered for greek night at 10 am, order tells me it will be ready in 30 mins. I drove 30 mins to pick it up, then I'm told it won't be ready until 5pm. FB states they close at 4pm.?? Cashier tells me they close at 5pm. I leave and drive back at 530pm and they cannot find my order even though I pre-paid at 10am online earlier. I have to pull up my email to show the front house guy, then he finally finds the order but I have to wait 20 mins because it's not ready. Now my husband will not be able to eat before his job because of all these delays. He works nightshift and that was going to be his meal. I'm pretty sure my meal was just scraps scraped together, a spoonful of meat over my noodles (patitsio). Very frustrating being my first time and had to make multiple trips from Lexington, where i live. No apologies or acknowledgment of the above errors/issues when I picked up the food.
