Have been wanting to try this place since I moved into the shandon neighborhood last year and finally went this evening. I was by myself and it seemed busy but they had a good amount of staff on the floor. I was sat right away and in a booth which I was happy about! But from then the experience was horrible and short. I stay for at least 10min before I was brought water and a glass by a host (I assume) and I was ready to order food and wanted a drink as well but she said my server would be right there and she walked away to fast for me to say anything else. It was another 15 min past by as I watched a few tables around me get up as well as the booth in front of me paid and was about to leave. The what I assume was the server for the section my table was in passed by me sitting there at least 4 or 5 times. I finally got up went to the house stand told her I was just going to leave as I had been sitting waiting to order for a while and hadn't had anyone come to my table yet (beside the water), she didn't offer me to speak w manger she just quietly said oh sorry are you sure and I said yes and walked out the door. I've worked in the restaurant industry for 15+ years I understand being busy but I was a table of 1 there's no reason a server couldn't have taken 2min to stop and get my order and put it in. It's not like I was a 4+top table. It was just me! And wanted to be a paying customer who would have tipped very well had I received...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Masa Mexican Street Food, and I must say, the experience was delightful. I ordered a Barbacoa Bowl and the Queso and Chips, both of which left a lasting impression.
Barbacoa Bowl: The Barbacoa Bowl was a symphony of flavors and textures. The barbacoa itself was incredibly tender and seasoned to perfection, with just the right amount of smokiness and spice. The bowl included a generous portion of rice, black beans, fresh pico de gallo, and creamy guacamole, all of which complemented the barbacoa wonderfully. The addition of crisp lettuce and a sprinkling of cheese added a nice crunch and richness to each bite. The portion size was satisfying, making it a hearty and fulfilling meal.
Queso and Chips: The Queso and Chips were a perfect appetizer. The queso was smooth, creamy, and packed with flavor. It had a nice balance of cheese and a subtle kick of heat that made it addictive. The chips were freshly made, warm, and perfectly crispy, providing an ideal vehicle for the delicious queso. This classic combination was executed flawlessly, making it a must-try for anyone visiting Masa.
Overall, Masa Mexican Street Food offers an authentic and delicious dining experience. The quality of the ingredients and the attention to detail in each dish truly stand out. If you're looking for a place to enjoy flavorful Mexican street food, I highly recommend giving Masa a try. You won't be...
Read morerecently dined in with a friend, and we had a fantastic time. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, with a perfect volume of music that set the mood without drowning out conversation—just the right balance! We were seated immediately on a Friday night, which was a pleasant surprise since we expected to wait.
As a Mexican, I can be picky about authentic dishes, but I was really impressed with the tamales. They were perfectly cooked, and the taste was spot on—definitely a highlight of the meal! The rest of the food was also delicious, with flavors that felt true to what you'd expect from a great Mexican restaurant.
The service was another standout. Our server was friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed without being overbearing. For two people, we spent around $70, which I thought was reasonable given the quality of the food and the overall experience. It was a great spot to enjoy good food, good music, and great company. I’ll...
