This post below was my review six years ago and I could only edit for this visit. As you can see I gave a good rating back then. Unfortunately, my second visit was very less satisfying. I thought everything seemed to be done at the least expense possible. The lo mein noodles were regular spaghetti noodles, selection was horrible and half American food (it was a Saturday night at 5:30 p.m.), the shrimp were tiny, the General tsos had a strange brown color, and everything seemed to have the same strange taste. I was not happy this time around. Maybe new owners? I do give an A++ to the waitress . This was my older post from 2017 or so: "Came for lunch and it was quite delicious! Favorites were house chicken and crab cake things. My only complaint was there was no shrimp on the stir fry bar, which is usually when I get a place like this, as my meat choice. Overall a very good experience thank you."

This used to be a family favorite, an affordable restaurant where you could take 3 picky children to all find something they like. This visit on 2/24/2024 however, was over $100 for our family of 6, when it was always in the $60-70 range before. All the fried egg rolls, crab rangoons, etc, had a distinct smell that could only be described as my 12 year old sons stinky socks, that deterred our tastebuds before we could get through a plate of food. Plus, I'm glad they get a lot of business to keep things going, but you couldn't help but brush up against people anywhere you stood, people touching and hogging all the food options. The more expensive they make their product, the further downhill the business slides 😔

Crazy expensive for sugared "Chinese" food Edit: returned in 2023, and it's just as bad as I remembered. The fact that the owner decided to defend it's stance that this is somehow "high quality Chinese" means I lowered them from 2 stars to 1 star. The food has the typical issues of sitting on the buffet WAY too long. The steak at dinner was coated in sugar sauce and literally room temperature. The dumplings have been sitting for a very long time, and are hardened around the edges. Clearly this is the same owner or at least they source the same menu and food providers as Eastern Buffet in Lexington and Blossom in West Columbia. Each has their own set of problems, but Jasmine Buffet is definitely the worst.

The food was not the problem. It was good. The buffet was good. But the buffet was not good enough to tolerate what else was going on. The issue was that we had a large party of 9. There was no problem getting a table since we beat the church crowd in. The problem was that shortly after we sat down, we could tell that we were being herded right back out. They suddennly got busy, and they wanted our tables. They got our money, and now they wanted the next people's money and they were going to do everything they could to chase us out! We were not in there for a terribly long time either, maybe 45 minutes. Come on, we had a large party and they were getting 13 bucks a head, plus drinks, that's well over a hundred bucks for our table! We deserved to enjoy our lunch no matter what else was going on. I only had a chance to make 2 relatively small trips to the buffet, never did get a chance to see what all was on the buffet, and when I went to get a spoon for my ice cream, they were carrying off my bowl of ice cream and clearing the table. My wife had to tell them to to wait. On top of that, we never did get our drinks right. It was my first and last experience at this place. They don't seem to understand a basic concept of the hospitality industry. A paying customer deserves to have the full experience of whatever is being offered. We were paying the same price as the people at the next table and the same as the people who were waiting for a table. If people at the front were getting impatient, they should have gotten there earlier, like we did. As I said before, we were not there an overly long time. I only had a chance to make 2 trips to the buffet, getting small portions each time I went. We were there less than an hour, maybe even less than 45 minutes and the restaurant was packed, so getting through the buffet was time consuming. This added to our time there. I would not recommend this place at all unless you enjoy being herded in and out like cattle and you like the idea of being rushed to pay up...

🛑🛑🤢 Be careful with their food - it upset everyone’s stomach in our party. We were all in the bathroom within an HOUR of eating from this place. All 7 of us. A few of us were had stomachaches from this food - including the kids.

Their food was alright - not worth the price. The dessert bar was awful - it didn’t have much to choose from. Definitely overpriced. It was $18.18 for adults and $15.99 for kids - drinks included.

Service was not good. Not worthy of an automatic tip. The lady that was ringing us up was so rude. It felt like I was being interrogated - she asked multiple times how old my kids were and how many people were in the party. The lady behind me started laughing at her repetitive questions.

Our waitress did not check on us enough - drinks kept getting low and plates were piling up around us. I absolutely hate that we were forced to tip prior to receiving the bad service. She already knew she was tipped prior so she was not motivated to actually provide a good service. She did not deserve that automatic tip that we were forced to give her.

We had a party of 7 and was automatically charged a tip AND a 15% service charge. (How you know we didn’t wanna leave cash? Cos everybody like cash now) But, anyway, this was not known until after we paid and looked at our receipts. Everyone in our party automatically had a tip AND service charge added to their bill. That wasn’t cool at all. The service that we received did not deserve a tip at all. If we would have known about the 15% service charge and forced 10% tip, we would have went elsewhere to eat. Y’all, the food is already overpriced.

This is a very deceiving business practice- I will not be back. Definitely not because of how the food did our stomaches! I don’t support underhand businesses like this. This is something that you fully disclose to your customers before you charge their card with a...

First off the lady up front is nice and very helpful. The food is really good and always is, however the service is not good at all me and my party went through 2 plates each without a single refill and no one checked on us at all. i went up to the waitress where they have their drink machines and i told her after waiting 20 minutes without any drinks if she could give me some lids and refill our drinks so i could atleast quinch my thirst on the way home but no she looked me dead in my face and walked away did not say one word. i went back to my table and told my mother she just walked away and then i went to ask the host if we were supposed to refill our drinks ourselves and she was very helpful and let my waitress know we needed refills. then my mom went to get another plate and the waitress walked up to her and asked her “what you want?” and my mom was not the one who asked her for anything it was me. Once she finally came back to my table she was very rude and did sound like she was making smart remarks in a different language. in the end i did get my drink refilled and i was full but not happy or satisfied. after today i do not recommend anyone coming here because if i’m tipping someone for good service that’s what i would like in return but that certainly didn’t happen. 1 Star for the last up front 1...
