I usually don't write reviews but what happened was beyond disrespect. I have made reservations to this hotel almost a month prior to my arrival date which was on april 9th to attend my boys graduation ceremony at fort jackson military base. I flew to SC from Chicago and my flight was delayed, once i areived to Charleston, i had to rent a car and drive to this hotel which was 2 hrs drive. Once i areived to check in, my husband and I were told by THE MANAGER LISA that our room had plumbing issues and she canceled our reservations and booked us into another hotel which was way further from this one to the military base. At first i didnt think much of it till i started to see other people walking in that had reservations and were able to get their rooms, and when i check the other hotel lisa made reservations at and realized it is far from the graduation ceremony. So i went back to speak to her but she was gone, so i asked the front desk girl to call lisa sonce she is in charge so that i can talk to her. She was extremely rude on the phone and very disrespectful and she wont even let me talk. I asked her baswd on what you took it on your behalf to cancel my reservations thst i made weeks ago knowing that i have my sons military ceremony graduation to attend ? She replied that because we made our reservations through a 3rd party she has the right ti red flag my reservation and cancel it and give my room to someone else. And that she sent an email to notify me when i had no access to internet while flying. Her email was sent at 3:47 pm on the 9th, and she stated that because im late she ended up giving my room to someone else and she has the right to do so, which ive never heard of. I called the 3rd party (expedia) and i was told that i have till midnight and if i didnt show up then the hotel can cancel my reservation, i arrived at 5:30 to the hotel due to my flight being delayed plus i had to rent a car and drive for 2 hrs to get to this hotel. She was so rude and she said she will hang up the phone. I had no place to go and i had to drive aeound for hours loomong for a hotel room to stay at. I dont even know how can this be normal to a reputable hotel and allow this type of disrespect. She clearly told me after lying avout the plumbing issue, that because i booked theough 3rd party she decided and she has the right to cancel my reservations and give it to a mareiott member. This is a total act of discrimination that i had to deal with, and i will take further action against this hotel. So disappointed and frustrated that it took me hours in the middle of no where to find a place. Will never recommend this hotel and i dont wish this on anyone. The mini fridge was a lifesaver for keeping my drinks cool, and the high-speed Wi-Fi made sure I stayed connected and entertained throughout my stay.
But it doesn't stop there, my friends. Springhill Suites knows how to take care of their guests. The staff was absolutely fantastic, always welcoming and ready to assist with any request. They went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed, and their friendly smiles made me feel right at home.
And let's not forget about the mouthwatering breakfast spread. It was like a foodie's dream come true! From fluffy pancakes to crispy bacon, there was something to satisfy every craving. I also have to give a shoutout to the hotel's prime location. It was super convenient, with plenty of attractions and restaurants within walking distance. I had a blast exploring the city, knowing that I had a cozy and superbly comfortable room waiting for me at the end of the day.
All in all, my stay at Springhill Suites by Marriott was beyond incredible. The hotel had it all - style, comfort, and outstanding service. Read moreI stayed at this hotel this week, and unfortunately, my AirPods were stolen by a member of the staff. The day after I left, I noticed they were missing, and I checked the location and saw they were at the hotel still. When I called the hotel to ask if they were there, I was told they were not in the lost and found. The next evening, I checked to see if they had moved on my Apple account and they were located at a town nearby at a residential address. The following morning they were back at the hotel which confirmed that an employee was in possession of them.
I called and spoke to the general manager, Lisa Yilmaz, let her know about the situation and she told me she couldn’t help me because her employees were contracted. When I proceeded to let her know that if I had to drive there, I would bring the police with me to retrieve my items, She asked if I was threatening her. She was extremely rude and unprofessional, she took my information down and 20 minutes later a different manager gave me a call. This manager, Faith, was extremely kind and helpful and let me know that my AirPods were located in the lost and found. (This couldn’t have been true since they were in a different town at a home the night before)
Lisa was complicit in knowing that my stolen item was with an employee and placed them in the lost and found and asked another manager to call me to notify me of my items being there. After driving two hours to receive my AirPods, (they refused to ship them to me), I spoke to Faith, who was not aware of the situation of my AirPods being missing and told me she would look into all of the issues and was very kind.
It is a shame that the general manager is allowing her employees to take items from guests without any admission or repercussion. Be cautious...
