Waffle House — Restaurant in Columbia

Loved ordering dinner at the new "Eat Anywhere But Here" window earlier this evening. Just kidding. It infuriated me to discover that my family and I could not sit down to eat dinner at the same Waffle House that we've been eating at for the past 14 years.

I was told at one Columbia Waffle House location that they were only open for take out after 9PM. After refusing to place an order (because I absolutely detest take out food cooling in plastic containers), I arrived at another Waffle House location where I was informed that W.H. was regressing to a carry out only format during evenings and late nights. Yet another icon of American greatness falling by the wayside.

I have been on the road behind the wheel or in the passenger seat for 12 hours today. What makes W.H. Corporate think that people who have been on the road all day want to eat in their cars as well? Youve really lost touch with your customer base. Guess I'll have to drive a bit more to eat at Dennys or Cookout next time.

The Slogan: "Waffle House: America's Place To Eat... America's Place To Work." Not true anymore. It should be: "America's place to order your food at a window... (Oh wait, there are thousands of fast food places that could make the same claim.) America's Place to Work (But not if you work evenings and rely on tips.) Wonder how you're going to keep night workers around when they rely on tips to pay their bills?

And how do you think your investors are going to react? I plan on checking with my financial planner to insure that I divest myself of funds involving Waffle House holdings before your stock values plummet.

Better still, terminate the crack smoker who decided to force this this Domino's Pizza concept onto the W.H. 24-hour diner model that has been a hallmark of American freedom for so...

Where to begin?!? This is defintely not worth the stars it has. If I could give no stars I would. We sat down at approximately 740pm today and waitress took forever and had no clue what she was doing. Ordering, she wrote down EVERY item we said which at first was great, we figured she was newer so cut her some slack until it took her over 5 minutes to get our orders. She messed up the drinks because her and the other 2 employees were messing around. Food comes out and we get argued with once we told her we all ordered chocolate chip waffles and no one got plain. she finally says oh I must've messed up the order. Mind you all but one of our orders were ALL the same. Chocolate chip waffles, sausage, eggs simple order.. She then shorts us sausage. We explain to her we were 4 pieces short and she goes oh okay then comes back with 5 pieces saying dont worry i wont charge you for the extra piece.

We repeated ourselves numerous times and she just didnt understand a word we said!! She moved so incredibly slow we didnt even want to wait for refills. She rang the entire order up wrong and had nothing ready for us when we wanted to go. I dont know what was wrong with the staff there tonight but I will certainly never return as well as my family. Worst experience at waffle house ever, we travel for a living and have never had this happen! If we werent in a rush i wouldve happily have waited on a manager to come in and fix what she over charged us for and maybe explain why out of 3 workers there was...

Went in there was dirty tables every where no worries we sat at one. We waited patiently for the server Desiree to clean the table told her no rush or worries. Afterwards ordered our drinks. Coffee and tea. She brought drinks. Asked if we knew what we wanted.. well no because no menus. But again I laugh no worries. We get menus we figure out what we want. And go ahead and order. All star special no wheat bread cool I'll take white. And a waffle. Get all my food except waffle. Immediately notice hair in my toast. She never comes back around to refill drinks or even check to make sure all is well. Or for me to even say anything about the toast. I stop her n say hey can I get my waffle by chance? She looks at my ticket that she brought back by real quickly. Rolled her eyes n then went n got it .. then my daughter wanted to take the rest of her food to go. So I politely asked for a to go box. She acknowledged n NEVER...
