One must always judge a place in its context. Therefore, I can’t be critical about the carpet, the tables and chairs, the silverware and plates, and such superficial things. They are right for this restaurant. Plus, they keep costs down. Actually, I can’t even complain about the so-so service. They were extremely short-staffed, so much so that they won’t be opening one day next weekend. The owner needs rest. And we’ll deserved rest. I had the chicken fried steak, with mashed potatoes and green beans for sides. (Those are a must.) The chicken fried steak had a good but not great batter, but the gravy was good, and the portion itself was generous. The sides were good as well. Might have been nice to have bread or hush puppies with it. My wife had the fried fish sandwich as a plate. It was good. The French fries were just ok in my opinion. But the vibe was good. And the New Mexico-inspired art gave the place a neighborhood feel, underscoring how the owner seemed to know everyone coming in. I had the Cypress Creek Inn on my Google “To Try” list. Glad I tried.

Good articles by the restroom if history buff. Season yourself so diabetic to blood pressure friendly meals. Reminds me of the cooking at Hill top Kerrville nursing home. Lots of older clients easy to hear without hearing aids or with they spoke loudly for us which was so nice. Clean bathrooms to great staff who refill to get what you need. Easy to eat y chew . Desserts are magnificent! Chocolate cake had hint of walnuts y coconut in the icing. Was delicious. Older lady near me had the rum pudding raved about it. 5 star desserts ! Ate on the way home from church.

If want the best home cooked meals, then you have to travel to Comfort, Tx, where Cypress Creek inn is located. They have the best home cooked breakfast and lunch there. The chicken fried steak tenders with mask potatoes and green beans, so delicious. My son ordered chicken fried chicken lunch and my wife ordered seafood Gumbo. Food comes out straight from the stove to your table. Atmosphere is your typical country style look. Plenty of parking and the service ( Benjamin) is excellent. 5 Stars

Definitely a good old fashioned small town diner. The service was friendly and the food was delicious. There isn’t a large variety, and if you are planning to dine there with a large group, they need 24 hours notice. Again, it’s a very small town restaurant. The server (there was only one) knew everyone’s name and their order because they were all from Comfort. Very retro, my MIL ordered a jello salad and she got exactly what you might be thinking (jello on top of lettuce with a dallop of mayo). My husband got chicken fried steak and he was satisfied. The plates your food comes on is one of those divided plates that keep your food from touching each other. Reminiscent of my childhood days, only my favorite cartoon characters were not printed in the plate :P the kids and I got burgers and they were really good. I’m a city girl myself, so I did not enjoy walking in to have the locals stare at us like we were foreigners. But, I’d definitely recommend if you’re passing...

Not sure why Ben is getting lots of positive reviews. Sounds like he's asking people to do it that he "likes"... For some reason, he singled out my husband, and would be rude to him because my husband likes to joke around, end I guess he didn't like his sense of humor. He never hid how he felt about him and would give these evil looks when he just asked him for extra napkins for example. He also asked a couple that checked out before us one day their age and offered them a senior citizen discount. He NEVER offered one to my husband, and when questioned why, he said because he didn't need one, since my husband owns a business!!! Needless to say, I let him have it, and...
