Great place for breakfast and lunch, especially if you are visiting the area and staying in one of area lodgings that doesn't offer breakfast, as we were. We were pleasantly surprised at this quaint family run restaurant, we were greeted when we walked in by a local having a hearty breakfast that looked great, so that was a good sign for me. We were quickly greeted and poured a great tasting cup of coffee and we started chatting with another couple that we found out were staying at a campground nearby, who had also been searching for coffee and a good breakfast. We were not disappointed, all our food was great, the prices were very reasonable, the omelette I got was one of the best I have had. I overheard other customers saying how good their breakfast was, so we decided that Country Diner was our breakfast & lunch place while in the area. We had a great experience at Country Diner, we had excellent food and got to visit with locals, tourists, and the owners and talk about things to do in the area and listen to their experiences and recommendations. We wish the owners all the best and we will definitely be returning when we come back to...
Read moreIf you are looking for a memorable, unique of flavorful meal do not go to Comfort diner. I had catfish and broccoli, the frozen broccoli was microwaved or boiled on the stove top and doesn’t take long if a good system is in place. There was no advertising for help wanted, it was obvious that the owner chose to be the waiter, cashier and clean the tables. His wife is the cook. I support family business it was obvious that another server is needed. He had 8 table and was running the register another customer said his kids work the night shift. The owner was stressed and could ask his older children to help with lunch rush. If you are visiting Comfort you should know Comfort Diner has flavorless basic food that takes a long time to be served. Local might be ok with a basic experience but if you have one meal in comfort this is not the restaurant you...
Read moreWe were looking for local restaurants around the area and found this place. I am assuming it's pretty new. The lady and gentleman running the place are very friendly and personable. I ordered the chicken fried steak breakfast that came with 2 eggs, hash browns and 1 slice of toast. The gravy on the steak was very tasty. Eggs cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the basic 2 eggs, hash browns and sausage. Both of our hash browns were not hot and barely warm but everything else was good. My daughter ordered the kids catfish meal which came with fries and hushpuppies. Everything on her plate was hot and fresh. A bit pricey in my opinion. We had to park in another parking lot because their...
