Do NOT book this location without, as the husband told us, “doing research to know that we are a no children lodging.” I booked my family’s stay here in March through Hopper and NOTHING on Hopper states it is a no baby establishment. They also admitted to never hearing about Hopper so they accused us of lying. I have screenshots to prove we booked through Hopper and that their site is incorrect. When we arrived, the wife was nice about the situation and said she could possibly help us. Instead, her husband came out and attempted to kick us out immediately without hearing us out. We left as soon as the husband tried to intimidate and raise his voice to us. My husband got louder than him and we left promptly. We were rudely told that it is “plastered all over our website” that babies aren’t allowed. Which it is not. There is one blip that says “if traveling with young children to call ahead.” We arrived at 8:30pm and were 3 hours from home. Will not be booking this establishment in the future for any reason. The husband needs some anger management assistance and to be better on top of where he lists his business. Clearly doesn’t know where he’s posted and has zero patience for his...
Read morePros: clean, pleasant hosts, good bed. Cons: two calm but big dogs who sat on the couches (so we didn't), hung at our elbow as we ate, one laid his head on our table. Toilet stuck when flushed. Shower leaked to outside of tub. Breakfasts were good but small portions. We were asked upon arrival what time we would like breakfast; when we came at that time there was not enough seating for our party of four nor for another couple. While we were out for the day our bed was not made, garbages not emptied, wine glasses not removed - nothing was straightened up or done in the room. Our room was off the dining/family room, and conversations in that room were easily heard in our room; this must have been an earlier problem because the hosts had attached a rug to the inside of the door - tacky and ineffective. Dated appearance, too many nicknacks which made it feel junky, and needs TLC in so many ways. With so many lodging facilities in the area, surely there is something bettter than this. We would not stay there again and cannot recommend...
Read moreOK so this isn’t the fanciest place but it’s so cozy and homely and the beds are super-comfortable. Our hosts, Nellie and Leon are really friendly and made us feel welcome, I love the way it’s like an ‘old fashioned’ style guest house where the breakfast (which was delicious - particularly the pumpkin pancakes) is served in the lobby and there are large tables so you can chat and share stories with other guests. There’s fresh coffee and a good selection of teas in the lobby at all times and often a homemade cookie, it’s also lovely that there’s proper wine glasses and mugs rather than so many places we have stayed in where everything is single-use plastic (my absolute pet-hate). Of course I can’t leave a review without mentioning the dogs - Jed and Avery who were the stars of the show, I enjoyed having a game of fetch and seeing wagging tails in...
