Can’t speak on the food but can speak on the outrageous and disgusting way my family was treated by the owner, Andrea. We were a party of 8 and put our names on the waitlist which said we were second in line. Checked in about 25 minutes after that and they said another 20-30 minutes but could be sooner. Okay no problem. Checked in at 35 minutes (1 hour total now) to which the host said we were next in line and started setting a table for 8. I told my family to start coming in since she was setting our table. The owner, Andrea, rudely and aggressively came over to us and told us we needed to get out, after being in there for maybe 2 minutes. Literally all that was said is “you need to get out.” Mind you it’s pouring the rain outside, we have a 6 month old baby with us and there’s a tornado watch. I said oh okay sorry the host just told me that this table is for us so we were just waiting to which she replied “I don’t care what she told you she told you wrong and you need to get out.” I’ll be generous and say we stayed inside for maybe another 60 seconds trying to figure out what to do to which she said “I’m not gonna ask you a third time you need to get out.” I understand it being a tighter space and we didn’t want to be in the way but have some respect, basic understanding and kindness for your customers. I also understand every establishment has policies that need to be respected by customers but there are many, many more respectable and professional ways to enforce your policies rather than degrading people. A simple “I’m sorry folks but the host misinformed you and we don’t have waiting room inside would you mind waiting outside until your table is ready” would of gone a long way. If this approach is unreasonable for you, you should take yourself back to restaurant 101. CUSTOMER SERVICE. I asked her who her manager was and she said Andrea and said she was also the owner and laughed and said “so good luck with that one.” I told her she was extremely rude and should be embarrassed for treating guests like that. Coming from a general manager of a very successful restaurant in Boston and being in the restaurant industry for 20 years, I am always sympathetic for restaurants but I am absolutely appalled by Andrea and the fact that anyone in the service industry would treat their guests in such a manner to kick us out back to the rain after waiting an hour already and making us feel wildly unwelcome for simply standing in her restaurant. I’ve dealt with every customer under the sun and I could not even think of treating anybody at my restaurant this way. You can run a successful, high volume, restaurant while maintaining a certain level of professionalism and respect. After reading how she responds to anything less than a 5 star review and how she treated us I will never return nor recommend. I hope she treats her staff better then her customers. Went to banners and was treated great and had great food. Or go to stairway cafe next door, food is always amazing and the owner...
Read moreUnbelievably rude. Let me start by saying that I cannot speak to the food at 27 North because my party and I were kicked out before we were able to sit down. However, our interaction with the hostess/owner, has guaranteed that we will never return! This morning, our group of 8 added our name to a waitlist online. When we arrived, there was a misunderstanding about our table and one of the staff members informed us that our table was just about ready. Since it was pouring down rain, we all entered the restaurant. At that point, Andrea, the hostess and owner, began to berate us for standing in her way, told us that the other staff member was wrong, and proceeded to seat another group at that table. When she returned she continued to yell and screamed "get out!" several times. She even insisted we stand outside in the pouring rain with my 7 month daughter. At that point, we decided that we would just go somewhere else, to which Andrea replied "Good! Get out, and good luck finding somewhere else at this time!". When we asked for the manager, she informed us that she was the manager and owner and added "so, good luck with that". So, we left and found another fantastic breakfast spot about a mile down the road. The restaurant is covered in signs, some almost taunting you to complain about bad service. The "We survived the pandemic so we can survive your Yelp review!!!" hand written sign in the entry should have tipped us off that this place does not care about customer service. It is very likely that the owner, Andrea Carbone, will comment back to this negative review like she has to many previous bad reviews. These retorts, filled with careless spelling and grammar, refuse to take ownership for any service-related problem she creates in her own establishment. This astonishingly bad customer service mars the otherwise pleasant atmosphere of the town. North Conway is filled with quaint restaurants and shops that care about their patrons and their experience. Do not waste a second of your time or vacation interacting with Andrea at 27 North. Choose from any number of other friendly and delicious restaurants in the area and...
Read moreUnlike the many other restaurants around who've been serving the Conway community for decades, this dirty, rundown restaurant has only been open 7 short years, barley making it by...and now I see why. The owner is an unprofessional and rude old woman. First off, they do NOT welcome walk in customers. You have to call and speak with the owner on the phone to get her approval to dine here. That was the first red flag. My group only chose to eat here after trying all the other local breakfast/lunch places. They were all too busy, unlike north 27 with only 2 groups eating inside. We figured this meant we'd get right in, yet we were told it was a 30 min wait. When we finally got inside and seated, we were appauled by the prices on the menu. Very out of touch and high for other places in the area. We were even more shocked when our food arrived in portions fit for a toddler snack. Not only that, the food was subpar for a place attempting to appear "fancy" and "millennial." Most of the food was either under or over cooked. While we were eating, we witnessed the owner get into multiple verbal fights with customers, it was unlike anything we have ever seen. It was clear the owner has no respect for herself or others. We decided to leave after the verbal arguments escalated and the owner started to get aggressive with a elderly couple who did not see the call before entering sign. By far one of the worst dining experiences of my life. We wish we had just listened to the other reviews of horror stories that happened here. You're better off waiting to dine at the popular, well known places just steps away from this place and not making the extra hike to be disappointed and potentionally even screamed at...
