WOW & AWESOME only begin to describe the experience of this fairly new Scandinavian hotel!
I would rate this hotel a 10 if that were an option, but I will have to settle for a 5. We started our adventure meeting Rachel when we arrived. She walked us through entering our suite and explained all the options and details of the hotel to us and asked if we had questions. She did a fantastic job and left us with none to ask. We did a bit of shopping and decided to go back early for the evening and partake in the charcuterie board and an Irish coffee. Both were fantastic. Mari (the owner) was the one that prepared it for us and we got to enjoy watching the rainy day while talking with her and enjoying our snack in the common area. Next we were able to enjoy the sauna. This feature is to die for. I have been in a few saunas, but none were half as nice as this was. The set-up and finishes were amazing. We had a great nights sleep and then Emma brought us our breakfast. Again, WOW. We have never had such an interesting meal. It was light, but filling at the same time, and all homemade. A great end to a great stay!
A few other notables:
The check in process is also unique here and it gives you a much more personable experience if you chose to make it that way, or it could be a way to keep to yourself. I enjoyed it even though it was unlike any other check in we have ever done.
It was raining so we weren’t able to use the outdoor spaces, but they were all done in a unique manner.
The architecture here was amazing, and the finishes were very well done. It was both minimal and fabulous at the same time!
CLEAN! I usually start my reviews with something about cleanliness, but that was the last thing on my mind here. It was immaculate even though the weather was bad. Not sure how they did it, but we never saw them pick anything up, yet there was no mess.
Location - it is right in town, yet feels like it is outside it somehow. Hard to explain unless you know the area, but for the proximity to town it is extremely accessible.
Overall it felt like staying in a high end home and we were made to feel like family. There are a few more goodies in the works (like a couples massage), and we plan to participate in another stay soon.
Thank you for the memorable stay Mari, Rachel and Emma! You made it a...
Read moreMy fiancée and I had the pleasure of staying at the VILLA HYGGE Scandinavian Boutique Hotel in October 2023, a visit to check out the fall foliage and celebrate our recent engagement. Key takeaway: I HIGHLY recommend VILLA HYGGE if you're looking for a unique hotel experience. Aesthetically beautiful inside and outside with the Scandinavian design. Top-notch customer service with the friendliest staff, super clean spaces for the ultimate comfort and relaxation, and an incredible high tech hotel. A truly unique hotel that you won't find anywhere else. The service is second to none. Every team member, including the warm and accommodating owners, goes above and beyond to ensure me and my fiancée feel at home. They're very attentive and easy to talk to - each and every person on the team is so friendly and kind. Their attention to detail and thoughtfulness made the experience very enjoyable. The hotel itself is beautiful using the Scandinavian architecture that includes a lot of wood to create the most peaceful environment you can ask for. The walls are well insulated and cancel out any of the traffic noises outside so you are completely as peace. Definitely one of the most beautiful hotels I've been to and a unique experience. I particularly enjoyed how it was such a high tech hotel. You just text them for anything you need like room service, check-ins, etc. They also have little gems like underglow lights in the bathroom/bed frame and touchless switches. Very neat to see a modernized hotel like this! Location is everything, and VILLA HYGGE doesn’t disappoint. Located in the heart of North Conway, I was able to enjoy the best of both worlds – being close to fall foliage destinations and easy access to the town’s stores/resturants. The spa was incredible as well - offering everything from couples massages to facials. It was a relaxing experience and put us in the right mindset to have a relaxing weekend. It also includes access to a sauna that you can book to relax even further after a long day out. In summary, VILLA HYGGE was the perfect pick for our special getaway. It’s got the location, the vibe, the service. Will 100% be back for...
Read moreThis visit was more than advertised or expected. My wife and I were looking forward to the Scandinavian experience of spa, massage, and sauna, plus area shopping. The rooms and those experiences can only be described as unique. There is light wood and glass everywhere with clean design elements. The Scandinavian design and style made it different from other hotels - clean, minimilist, welcoming, and relaxing. Rachel and Mari couldn't be more welcoming, even as we exited our car and arrived at the front door. Book scheduled events like sauna, massage, breakfast either by touch pad,, text, or by talking to them - it just happens seamlessly. My wife enjoyed a massage and I enjoyed the 50 minute complimentary private spacious sauna. The complimentary wine and breakfast were served as you might expect in Nordic countries. Mari and i enjoyed comparing our Finnish roots and found common ground in a comfortable conversational way. She makes you feel welcome. This hotel couldn't be located in a better spot, although close to the main road presents background noise challenges - but minimal. The N. Conway atmosphere and location is so much more Nordic than this hotel would be on Cape Cod or Newport. Within walking distance are 4 season activities, plus tons of restaurants in either direction. N. Conway village is right here. Mari's recommendations to dine at Thompson's in Jackson were spot-on, a wonderful fine dining experience in a laid-back farmhouse environment. This very new hotel should not be missed if you're looking for something else beyond a busy check-in or a busy lobby or heavy, dark furniture. Try Villa Hygge. We...
