Beware Of Magic Arts, NOT CUSTOMER or CHILD FRIENDLY. The store is full of hypocrisy for all its peace/love/spiritual vibe, the teenager working there, Tehya, was the rudest, meanest, personally attacking, scarring, and unhelpful customer experience I've ever encountered, and I used to work in retail at a similar arts/crafts type of store so am well aware of usuakl retail protocol. We've literally spent thousands of dollars over the years there and I was a loyal customer until a few weeks ago when I came in with my family, I have a 2 and 5 yr old. Mind you we literally walked into every store on the North Conway main street without complaint or incident, in fact everyone loves our sweet kids who are well behaved. My husband was actively watching my 2 yr old and 5 yr old, but the 5 yr old is very mature, goes to a Montesorri school where they use real glasses and ceramic plates, so is used to handling things with care. Tehya glared at us when we first walked in, was unable to answer any of my questions regarding the jewelry and what type of metal it was made of, and gave me attitude as I asked to try things on as it was clear she'd rather hang with her friend who was there. I had been at the jewelry counter the whole time, asking for her help, and not once did she comment or give warning that she was unhappy with my 5 yr old who was in the store (was quietly exploring music instruments, clothing, wooden objects) Without warning, she all of a sudden said that she was going to have to ask us to leave, and threw my entire family on the street for no reason! She hadn't broken anything, was not loud, or causing a scene, but evidently a supervised 5 yr old is not welcome to explore the store at all, even when I said I would pay for anything damaged. When I asked if I could pay for the jewelry I had set aside and I gave her my frank opinion of her kicking my family out for no reason, without warning, she refused to sell me anything and demanded I leave! This was after the most unprofessional, personal, crazy mean attack and analysis about what she feels are the inner dynamics and working of our family and a lecture and how it should be done better, all coming from a teenager! When I confronted the store owner, I have known and supported over a decade, she just blindly ignored my feedback and enabled this incompetent, unskilled, and unstable teenager to abuse and discriminate against our family for no reason. The teenager had lied and said she had given me multiple warnings, which never happened! Sorry to rant, but I just don't want to see another family damaged and harmed in such a way, so don't be mislead. It is not MAGICAL, its SCARY in there with the owners choice in this particular staff, Tehya. What further future staff will damage and discriminate against families if the owner is unable to discern good character and...
Read moreAs soon as we entered and throughout our whole time in the store, the one lady working there was constantly staring at us/hovering over us. One of my friends made a purchase, we left the store, and returned 5-10 mins later with 2 more friends. As we were looking at pendants and talking amongst ourselves, the worker was now standing practically next to us, watching what we were doing. Normally this would not be a problem, but it was excessive and awkward considering we were trying to talk to each other. She eventually made a comment interrupting us saying “we’re gonna let you have a good day, this isn’t a hangout spot” despite us looking for items to purchase (and having already spent some money), and ushered us out of the door... keep in mind, nobody else was in the store for us to be disturbing, even if we were being a bit loud, which we weren’t. This store isn’t customer or wallet friendly, especially if you seem like the type to not spend money or not have the money to spend here. Unfortunately, this experience isn’t uncommon either, judging by the other...
Read moreThe stuff in this shop was beautiful and the store was lovely, don’t get me wrong. But the lady working there was unbelievably rude to my sisters and I. My kid sisters were saying to each other that they didn’t bring any money to buy the (definitely overpriced) crystals and were asking me to get them for them. The lady who’d been lingering around us since we walked in the door heard them say they didn’t have money and literally opened the door for us, said “welp,” and gestured for us to leave. We weren’t even done looking and there was this bag I’d really wanted to get when my sisters were done looking around. It was super rude and really a shame. I definitely...
