What an Awful Experience at Bangkok Cafe - Avoid at All Costs!
I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Bangkok Cafe, and I can confidently say it was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. From start to finish, this place was an absolute disaster, leaving me deeply disappointed and utterly disgusted. Let's begin with the ambiance. The moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was hit by a wave of unpleasant smells. The place reeked of stale food and dampness, making it difficult to even breathe properly. The dim lighting did nothing to conceal the grime and filth that seemed to be omnipresent throughout the entire establishment. Moving on to the service, it was nothing short of abysmal. The staff was incredibly inattentive, bordering on rude. It took an eternity for anyone to acknowledge my presence, and when they finally did, they seemed more interested in chatting among themselves than attending to the customers. The lack of professionalism was appalling and left me feeling like an inconvenience rather than a paying customer.
Now, let's discuss the food. The menu boasted a wide variety of Thai dishes, but the actual execution was an absolute disaster. The pad thai I ordered was a sorry excuse for a traditional dish. It was overly greasy, lacking any discernible flavor, and contained bits of undercooked vegetables. The chicken satay was rubbery and tasteless, and the green curry had an overpowering, artificial taste that made it nearly inedible. To make matters worse, the portion sizes were minuscule, leaving me feeling hungry and unsatisfied. In terms of cleanliness and hygiene, Bangkok Cafe failed miserably. The tables were sticky and covered in food remnants, clearly indicating a lack of proper cleaning. The cutlery and dishes appeared dirty, with visible stains and residue. I couldn't help but feel disgusted by the overall lack of hygiene standards. Lastly, the prices were exorbitant considering the appalling quality of both the food and service. I felt like I had been scammed, paying a premium for a subpar dining experience that left a sour taste in my mouth, both figuratively and literally.
In conclusion, I strongly advise anyone considering dining at Bangkok Cafe to think twice and steer clear of this establishment. The combination of terrible service, unappetizing food, lackluster hygiene, and inflated prices makes it an absolute nightmare for anyone seeking an enjoyable dining experience. Save your money, time, and taste buds by looking elsewhere for authentic...
Read moreMy family of 3, my pregnant cousin and her husband had the worst experience with this restaurant recently. When we called in to check the wait time on Saturday evening, we were told it was about 1hr. We reached there in 30 min or so anyway, since we really wanted to try this place. When we reached there, we didn't see anyone waiting out and hence stepped in to sign up. We were again told there was an hour wait, even though we could see that there were atleast 2 vacant tables there and none was waiting. We thought we would wait anyway, and borrowed their menu to get our order ready for when we would get seated. Suddenly, the staff who said there was an hour wait earlier came by and told us they are not going to serve us and made it apparent that we must leave. We were shocked and stepped out and were wondering where to go, when that same staff put up the CLOSED tag on the door, even though their closing time was listed as 10pm and it was just about past 8pm at that point.. He kept standing at the door to make sure we don't get in, when we were not even trying to. We went away to get food some place else. To make matters worse we could see that the staff had put on the OPEN sign in just about 30 min or so of our leaving..
This was the first time we were refused service without an appropriate reason why. We would understand if they said they were understaffed, or had other logistic issues. We were not given any reasons and this failed communication left us unhappy and humiliated as customers, who just wanted to enjoy some good Thai food. Based on this experience, I would NOT recommend this place to anyone, and would make sure none of my friends visting that area try...
Read moreThe food was average, the service was quite slow and the owner/server was very rude.
We were in the area, yelp had a few very high ratings for this place, we decided to try it out. Food: We ordered wonton soup, seafood soup, dumplings and twin action. The wonton soup was very tasteless, the vegetables in the soup were completely uncooked (raw) and the dumplings were tasteless. The seafood soup was spicy, had 2 scallops and 2 shrimps with lots of uncooked mushrooms. The dumplings were quite tasty and were probably completely home made. The twin action again contained uncooked veggies but the curry was ok overall.
Service: The owner was the only one person taking orders and serving about 10 tables. We got water in about 15 minutes, food in about 45, and decided to pay directly at the counter (rather than wait another 20 to get the person's attention). I had to wait for about 10 mins to get his attention for getting hot sauce. Well, I paid 10% tip because I was quite unhappy with the poor service and pointed out the same when he asked why.
At that point, the owner said: "Well you are not American, so you don't give good tip." Another person was signing the check at the counter, he pointed to him and said, "Thank you sir, you seem like American citizen".
We walked out at that, sure will...
