We called in an order for pickup. We ordered 4 subs, 3 out of 4 subs were wrong. We didn't realize that the subs were sooooo big. But that was fine. One of the subs had onion's on it. We stressed that one of my family members had an allergy to onion's. So when we got home we opened up the subs, as we we're all talking about how huge they we're. Besides the woman who took the order seemed like she didn't understand English. Went over the order a few times. 1 large chicken sub, no onions, net two orders, 2 Large steak and cheese, 1 w/ mushrooms and onions, 2nd, just steak and cheese. 4th sub Italian, no hots. That was the order...... We got the Italian, that was right. Next sub, steak and cheese had pickles on it! Next steak and cheese only had mushrooms no onions. The last sub chicken, came loaded with onions! So when we called because of the allergy they told us that we would have to go back to the store and buy another sandwich!! I said WHAT? Are you kidding me. The lady wanted my credit card number to pay for another chicken sub!! I said that I'm on my way to the store and I am bringing the chicken sub with ONIONS back to them and I will be picking up the chicken sub with no onions! I was very upset because they messed up 3 out 4 subs but I only complained about the situation with the onions. So I didn't even tell them that 3 we're wrong, I only said that I was upset about the allergy. So when we got to the store and brought the sub in, the lady gave me the chicken sub with a side package of onion's and lettuce. I told her that I didn't want the side package of onion's. That my family member had allergies. Then I thanked her and we walked out. We we're walking to our car and the same lady walked out of the side door in the dark and approached us, it was really freaky. She said with her hands crossed, I am the manager and Don't ever talk to my staff the way that you did... I said, I called and ordered 4 subs and I didn't say anything wrong to your staff but 3 we're wrong and they told me that I had to pay for another one. I told her that i didn't even complain about that. But I wasn't happy about that onions. We we're all hungry, so we didn't care really that 3 we're wrong. But he could not eat the onions. I was beside my self that this person who is supposedly the manager coming out of a dark back door to yell at me! What is that about?!?! I loved the sub. But I will tell everyone how rude the "manager" was. I was telling a friend about it and they said that the woman is the "assistant manager" not the manager. They need to get who ever answers the phone to just listen to the orders. Not to be talking to another person that's at the store. That's why the order got messed up. I've been a loyal Boston Brothers patron for nearly 3 years, and have spent thousands of dollars during that time. We always recommend them to anyone who asks where the best food around is.
I hate changing the rating, however, I'd be remiss had I not changed my prior 5 star review. Approximately a month+ ago, I ordered the normal, steak sub and cheese fries. I received the steak sub, fries, but no cheese. No big deal, this has happened a few times over the years and has always been corrected, without issue. I called and whomever was in charge that night told me I'd have a fry on the house next time. Long story short, I am a set medic/covid compliance officer, and was gone out of state for a month+ for the entirety of the filming/production. I got back this week and decided to order today. I call and order my normal and they tell me I'm all set. Upon the delivery driver arriving at my house, he tells me the fry isn't free, and I'll have the pay for it. He's just the delivery guy, I don't want to give him any trouble, so I pay and call up the management team at Boston Brothers. Upon speaking to the manager, he was pleasant, but his hands were tied as his boss above him said they'd not be crediting me an entire fry due to them forgetting the cheese. He also proceeded to tell me that they don't sell cheese fries, when in fact I've been ordering them for 3 years. No, it's not on the menu, but you can request for cheese to be put on the fries and have it done like I have.
I have a few issues with this situation. One, they showed no appreciation for a loyal customer who has chosen them over all the other places in the North Conway area. Two, they were extremely petty and acted in poor taste, as this is an order of fries we're talking about. Three, they didn't honor their word, and in fact went back on what they said. Four, after I ordered the food, the girl said I was all set. Had they had an issue, they should've called me back and explained their problem, not sent the delivery guy to handle it.
In closing, I will no longer be a customer at Boston Brothers and truly hope management reflects on their decision making going forward. I don't know what has happened as of late, but they leave a lot to be desired. You don't treat people with disrespect, especially ones who ordered from you during the Covid crisis and always tipped, trying to do our part supporting our favorite local business. Read moreI'm not sure who is reviewing this establishment but I'm betting it's the locals because nobody I mean nobody would give this place more than 1 star whom was from anywhere in the country who knows anything about good fresh food. Let me start by saying if you go some place and they give you salad dressing in packets purchased not home made, that tells you everything you need to know.. Nothing is made in house and it shows. I got two grilled chicken salads and 1 order of chicken fingers with fries. Firstly I want to tell you what this cost. I hope your sitting down (38$) no seriously, it cost 38$ Now having ordered grilled chicken salads for more than half my adult life I know that they are generally one of the more expensive items on a pizza/sub shop menu and I suspect it's because the chicken isn't cheap maybe but this chicken was an absolute joke, firstly it was the furthest thing from fresh, it had a taste indicitve of either old or pre frozen chicken, secondly, it was shredded, like seriously, shredded chicken. The best part was I estimated they gave us 1 halved breasted breast between both salads. The only thing half decent about this salad was the dressing which they had no hand in making. The kids chicken fingers (frozen obviously) were worse than McDonald's or Burger King. Speaking of fast food, I would have gladly had a salad from either of those places instead of this food travesty. It's so hard to find decent sub/pizza shops when you head north of Boston and please trust me this place isn't it. I can't speak of the pizza because we didn't try it, but I would bet my kids lives it sucks.. We were originally going to go to Island Chef but it was a little bit of a ride and we just drove over two hours but I wish I did. Now that place is great.. Lastly, I always find that places like this, in the mits of a popular part of town, not around much else, know that not to many places exist and they can get away with serving up nastly food and charge an arm and a leg for it..
