Pls be aware that this Hyatt hotel is not up to the standards of any other Hyatt we have visited. We have visited others in Maui, San Antonio, and Destin. The general mgmt here is not friendly or reasonable. When World of Hyatt double booked my reservation in error, this hotel gen mgr still knowingly charged us a fee of $120 for "no show", dtd the exact day of our check in, keeping the fee in force even after the error was called to her attention, by Both myself and a World of Hyatt representative. It was World of Hyatt that corrected this error indicating that the general mgr would not remove the charge. It took a 45 min phone call with World of Hyatt but they were happy to help, as they too did not understand why the GM was being so unreasonable. Both my husband and I are Hyatt members with separate membership ID'S. The breakfast in this hotel is very unsatisfactory and unsanitary. The yogurt is served from a big bowl daily, most likely so they can re-serve whatever is left, the next day. The eggs are served in the same way, bread products are hard as a rock. Since this breakfast bar was very unsanitary We chose to eat elsewhere. There's considerable noise in this hotel beginning early in morning, as they are in process of removing old worn carpet from rooms, replacing it with hard floors. This worn, dirty carpet still remains all over halls leading up to the elevators. In doing this they empty the rooms of all furniture, storing it in another room. The fabric of sofas, turned on their sides, along with the sofa cushions , line the floors, as well as the mattresses, they stand up in their sides, so they can cram as much as possible into a room. All this furniture now vertically standing, has been drug across the floors to be made even dirtier than it was in the first place. We were in a room with hard floor added, furniture in our room was identical to that for which I saw being stored. As the construction workers moved the furniture, it was dragged on floor, not wrapped to protect upholstery. One can only assume that all this furniture, which has been drug all over the floors of this hotel is very dirty. The sofa in our room had been multiple black spots on it. I would think many germs would be present especially now, after witnessing the way the cloth mattresses and cloth furniture are being moved and stacked up for storage. It's clear that health/ sanitation standards don't apply here. In addition to all this, it's next to impossible to get extra clean set of towels, without asking several times. There are multiple computer printed "signs" posted, indicating they will count the towels taken from your room lest you will be charged for any discrepancies. Also, this hotel had only 1 working elevator, it shook very badly when stopping on a floor. The TV's in this hotel are not smart, offer no capability of signing into any personal accts , such as Netflix. YouTube, HBO max, etc, only local cable TV offered here. I am normally a person that reads reviews abt hotels, restaurants , and the like, but didn't do that this time as really thought more of the Hyatt brand as a whole. We have always had very nice stays at Hyatt in the past. I will know better next time. The grounds here are very unkept, with tall, overgrown grass and weeds taking over. Water leaks out of front flower beds into front of parking lot so much that slick green slime covers places that are constantly wet, this also enhances the mosquitoe population in parking lot, and around entrance to hotel. To miss stepping in these slick areas, is not at all easy to do, especially if parking in handicapped area. The general mgr is very rude, not at all personable , not welcoming at all. I have seen other reviews left about her, in which others have had same issues. She's definitely not an asset to the Hyatt brand. This Hyatt will definitely be crossed from my list of places to stay, it would be well if others...
Read moreWe arrived around 2am and had to ask about status benefits after check-in. We had a whole lot of luggage to get to the room, and when we called the elevator down, housekeeping had a left a large metal rolling basket in the elevator, making it very difficult to fit. We had to take the basket out of the elevator, then after we got all of our luggage to the room, out of courtesy, I went back and put the basket back into the elevator so it wouldn't be missing. There shouldn't be large housekeeping baskets/carts blocking elevator space unless there's staff with the basket.||||When we got to our room, we noticed the door to the room looked like it was rotting away at the bottom, had patchy paint repairs, and didn't close properly; it took a lot of force to get it to latch. I was told this was pretty normal for the rooms. In the bathroom, the shower head was in terrible condition. We left the do not disturb sign on the door most of the stay, but the 1 day that we took it off so that our room would be cleaned, housekeeping never came. We requested fresh towels and were told on 2 days during our stay that there were no towels available. We were staying as a family of 4, so not being able to get fresh towels for 2 days is not acceptable for a hotel stay.||||The water dispenser in the lobby area is basically useless - through our stay, we were able to get about 16oz of water out of all the times we tried to use it...and we tried and tried and waited and waited on multiple occasions for the water to work, but other than the 1 bottle we filled, it never did. Of the 3 floors that had ice machines, the 4th floor was unplugged, so I didn't want to plug it in myself in case there was something wrong with it, the 3rd floor had a sign stating it was broken, and the 2nd floor gave a few cubes of ice and didn't dispense any more than that. The men’s restroom on the lobby floor had the air freshener pulled off the wall (can see the screws in the wall behind the door where it used to be), both the tissue dispenser and paper towel dispenser by the sink were empty, and the toilet paper dispense was also empty; luckily there was another roll that I had to replace myself.||||There was one woman, whom I believe was a manager, who was nice, personable, and helpful, but she was about the only redeeming part of our stay. Unfortunately, this is the worst Hyatt hotel I've stayed at (and is near the bottom of the list of any hotel I’ve stayed at) and is not at all on the same level as any of the other Hyatt Place hotels.||||Finally, I paid for this stay with points but have received a mystery bill that I'm having to resolve with...
Read moreThe only thing good about this place is the location. The rooms are not the nicest or cleanest, they are ‘okay’ in my opinion. I also had family members staying here as well and we all agreed during our stay that we would not be back. Another major issue is I was charged $800 at the end of my stay and I only saw once I received a checkout email hours later after I checked out. I work for a government entity that allows me to receive hotel discounts which is what I booked for at this hotel. At check-in I was asked for my government ID which I provided and was told “this will work”. I then come to find out in my check out receipt that I was charged regular rate (which was $280 a night due to Memorial Day weekend) because “I didn’t provide my government ID”. I am so very upset at the response I got when I called to dispute this. They then charged my card for $810!! I am so upset and will be taking this to corporate and reporting this hotel. Please save yourself and DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!! There is a Hilton and Marriott right next door. I highly suggest staying at one of those hotels , which I so badly wish I would’ve done.
Edit: I spoke to Kelly the ‘manager’ after calling for her for three days and she literally yelled and raised her voice so many times at me telling me at the beginning of the conversation ‘we will figure this out’ for her to literally just hang up on me. I cannot believe this place is ran by a person this way. I am a single mother of 3 children who cannot afford to be charged $810 as this hotel charged me without given ANY sort of communication that this would be happening. Kelly asked this and I told her no one told me my rate was going to change, I also let her know the front desk person at time of check-in insured me that ‘this will work’ referring to my government ID, no one told me I needed documentation for the hotel otherwise I would have brought that from my employer. Online it shows “must have active government ID at check in” that is literally all it says on my confirmation, I told Kelly this and she had no response! These people think I went to the beach and had a ball, I didn’t even pass by the dang beach. Now my employer is only refunding me for the initial $280 reservation so somehow I am out $530 of my own money. KELLY SHOULD NOT BE A MANAGER HERE. HER SERVICE WAS SO AWFUL AND SHE WAS EXTREMELY RUDE!!!!! I cannot believe a ‘manager’ treats customers this way.
I’m warning anyone who tries to stay here, DONT!!! I saw another review on here saying this is more like a “La Quinta” and it definitely is. Worst...
