This year, due to family members moving to NC, we have been traveling through this area at least 8 times now (that I can remember), and we will be doing more. I normally stop in towns before Atlanta. We've trief different Hotel/Motel chains, to see who's better than the others. This is our first time in Covington Days Inn, but will not be the last. It was due to an oversight on my part that I did not book ahead of time, the one I wanted to stay to originally in Madison, and when I called they have one room left and it's smoking. So off to the next town, which is Covington. And I found a "Diamond in the rough". The place is tucked almost in the background and you have to pass through a gas station parking lot. The pool was closed for the season, they do not have a lot of hot breakfast items, but they do have oatmeal. And this is what we also had...The people are very pleasant, from the gentleman I spoke on the phone named AJ, to the lady at the desk, the gentleman who gave me extra towel and washcloths for the kids (4 and 5 years old) and the gentleman the morning we checked out.The room is spacious, does not have a bad smell. We are given the king bed, bottom floor, as I requested. A nice big bed that is soooo comfortable and has no low areas on it. Very clean and odorless sheets. (I've come to making a habit of bringing our own covers when we travel, but this time we actually used theirs too.)The kids actually liked to just flopped their bodies down on the bed, and they did not bounced. Lol After traveling for more than 400 miles the kids were able to watch cartoons and kids movies that are appropriate for their age. Very first time we have an abundance of channels/shows to choose from. We slept through the night without being woken up with noises and/or commotions outside, and we were close to the office, mind you. AND best of all, the vanity, bathroom floor, toilet, bathtub are so nice and clean that for the first time in our travelings, and we have done more than this route, I shocked the kids telling them that if they want to take a bath, they can. ( You should have seen the look on their faces, lol) I've made up my mind that everytime we are passing through this area, we are staying in Covington Days Inn and will request for that room specifically. (I'm not saying the number of the room we stayed in, due to one crazy person will request it and destroy my "Diamond in...
Read moreFirst of all, I hate giving bad reviews. However, this location was nasty due to the roaches that came out the 2nd night myself and my family were there. We originally came to Covington to visit because I am a big fan of the vampire diaries, the originals and Legacies. I have include photos of the breakfast that so call ended at 9 am! We also had to move the mattress to see where the roaches came from. The maintenance people were way more welcoming then the owner/front desk staff. The maintenance staff should just run the place themselves. Also this place is overdue for a makeover.
You can get a better breakfast at the gas station that is directly in front of the days inn. Also, when I went to the front desk to ask about the breakfast the lady said breakfast ended at 9…all the hotels I’ve been too breakfast ended at 10 or 11am.
If I could give it a half star outta five I would. The lady at the front acted to nice on the phone until we arrived. Also the man said he would give us a discount because the room was dirty.
My husband and I cleaned our room ourselves because due to Covid we bring our own cleaning products. We only choose this hotel because they sounds so sincere over the phone. Also, it was close to Covington square.
So if you ever get tried and think you would like to stay there bring your own cleaning products , a vacuum and steam cleaner. Or you can camp out in your vehicle or look for another...
Read moreI cannot even give a star for this LITERALLY roach motel. We had a late check in, we arrived at 5am in the morning after travelling and being up since 4am the morning prior, just to sleep as we headed 3 more hours. We get in the room and the overhead light doesnt work, we find a side light only to find another light ripped out of wall. I check both beds, each bed had stained sheets, stained and burn holes in the blankets and one of the beds had blood or vomit on the side. The carpet had food, this room CLEARLY hadn't seen cleaning let along maintenance in months. I went to front desk, because the phone in the room DID NOT work to call, and received "fresh sheets and blankets" only to find a roach ON the blanket. I did complain only to get "oh i'm sorry, i'll talk to housekeeping". Needless to say, there was no sleeping. The "breakfast" was disgusting old pastries. This property is disgusting and needs SHUT DOWN. This is the first time I have stayed in a Days Inn, it will be my last and I will NEVER...
