The review is from 8/24/2023 Arrived at the location and checked in at approx. 5pm. Walked in the door after a 1000 mile drive and dropped our luggage and went to eat. My daughter and I returned at approx. 8pm to find the horror of the room. I first went to take a shower and noticed a cockroach in front of the toilet. I then opened the shower door only to find half of one on the shower floor. I came out to get my phone to take pictures only to notice that between the door and the door frame there was a 1/2 inch gap, large enough that I could stick my fingers thru. This gap could possibly allow a light kick to open the door with ease by the looks of it. I then started to document everything with pictures. After a couple pictures, I went to find the room phone, but there wasn't one. There was a phone number on the fridge (magnet) referencing the room phone to call the front desk. I then used my phone to find and call the hotel to which there was no answer (this was probably 8:15pm). I took a walk to the front desk on the other end of the building where I found the office was closed. There was a number on the door and upon calling that number I got security. Security was uninterested in talking to me and recommended that I come back the next day. I then went back to the room where on that same fridge magnet there was the regional managers phone number whom I attempted to call. Immediate voicemail, I left a voicemail on the reason for my call, and requested to maybe have my room moved to another. Didn't get a call back till the next day and apparently it was the number for a different regional manager. My last resort was contacting Hotels.com where I booked the stay while on the road. They attempted to contact the hotel and received no response either. I asked for a refund and was told it was up to the hotel itself and it could take 24 hours or more to get a response. I was able to book a room at another hotel and spent a good night there. Go somewhere else, clearly looking at past reviews you can see this place hasn't changed and doesn't care. My refund was denied.

I arrive from Christmas dinner to check into my hotel at about 7:50 PM last night. They close at seven on the website they say they offer continental breakfast. That’s a lie. They don’t offer that but they do offer is door to your hotel room that has been previously pried open with a crowbar. The bathroom and the kitchen head infested overrun with roaches. We had to leave our room door open for 2 1/2 hours just so we can filter out the bug bomb spray that they had let off in the room prior to me checking in great location. It’s easy to get to the highway, but it was not easy to go to sleep here last night. The condensation from the bug spray is still on my window this morning. There’s two beds in my room the kids bed awesome. They’re still sleeping. I’m up awake alert and packed so that we can check out and go to the next hotel. I’ve never in my life really written a bad review ever about a hotel or a motel. I have a lot of reviews. A lot of people follow me on this site. This is just a huge disappointment.

Short & to the point: Never go here...ever. As an evacuee due to hurricane Irma, I made reservations 3 days prior. Even at that time, most hotels had no vacancy or were price gouging. I drove over 6 hours with pets and children in tow. Upon arriving to the office to check in, the appearance gave the impression that cleanliness was not a priority, which turned out to be correct. As I began to explain that I was an evacuee & show my reservation number, the staff person interrupted and said that she was not honoring reservations. I stated that I'd made the reservation 3 days ago; she said that they were supposed to stop taking reservations 3 days ago. She said that there were no empty rooms, but then said that there was only 1 housekeeper & that she wouldn't sell rooms that hadn't been cleaned yet. I arrived before check in time and waited in line, so by this time it was after 4pm (check in time). She instructed me to wait if I wanted a room & she would see. As I waited for well over an hour without much in the way of options, she sold a room to a woman that stated that she had made a reservation at 8am the same day. She sold a room to another family as well; although, there was a disagreement about whether they had prepaid or not. A person who had checked in, returned after seeing the room and cancelled. Finally, I was given a room key without any other info such as a wifi password, location of the room, available amenities. As I was signing paperwork, I commented on the tall counter. The staff member said that it kept people from swinging on her. At the bottom of the stairs leading up to the room, there was a large area of some sort of substance like old cooking grease maybe that had been tracked up the stairs. The room was absolutely filthy. Smells of cigarettes, marijuana, & incense, filled the air. I am sure that the wait was not for room cleaning. There was a thick layer of hair, grease, & filth flaking off of the headboard onto the pillows (which I obviously never used) that were placed against it; old food splatter & whatever else on the walls, window sills; flies; etc. The pillows inside the cases were a dark, dingy brown/gray. The blanket had a hole over 12 inches in diameter and cigarette burns in it. There were dirty hand prints on all door knob areas, peep hole, etc. Every corner had built up gunk. I was glad to see the floor was laminate except the carpet under the bed. I immediately bought bleach spray, scrubbies, clorox wipes, bed sheets, etc. and went to work. No room cleaning service, fresh towels, etc. were ever offered or received. Other reviews accurately describe the types of long term residents here. I made sure that we were busy all day & only used the room to sleep while implementing all locks. When I checked out, the office door was locked. A lady, who was talking with others outside, identified herself verbally as a manager. I stated that the blanket had a large hole, I cleaned the headboard, etc. She didn't seem surprised nor concerned and offered no apology. The only good thing I can say about Covington is that there are kennels available in the surrounding area. I wouldn't take my dog to this Home Towne Studios. I would rather weather a hurricane than stay here again. I bought lice shampoo on the drive home, just for my own...

If I could rate this as zero, I would. This was, without a doubt, the worst experience I ever had in my whole life. I could list around 20 issues that happened during the last weekend, but I will give you a few examples. First: no reception, you got to call to a phone number for someone to come, and when we arrived, the security was sleeping and I literally woke him up to check in. Second: in the minute I opened the room door, I felt this disgusting and REALLY STRONG smoke smell, like cigarettes, even though they say is a smoke-free facility. I have smoke/cigarette allergies and sleeping on a room like that for the first night literally got me sick the whole weekend. On the second day they moved us to another room, which was still smelling like smoke. The aisles were full of trash bags, and they were all damaged so they were trash everywhere. On the second day, I called them on their phone number to ask for a towel. They said they would bring one in 10 minutes. I had to call to other times in the next hour, and they still did not bring the towel I asked. The bathroom door doesn't lock. The mattress was way bigger than the bed set, which means if we moved to the edge of the bed, we'd fell. There was this lady on the room below ours, she was literally knocking the roof (which was our floor) and she was complaining about an inexistent noise, according to her we were walking too loud (what the hell was that supposed to mean)? This lady came to our door to complain about this noise when we were literally laying on the bed just typing on the cellphone. On the following day, the security came to me to talk about this lady and the complaints, and he was rude and he was telling us we shouldn't keep the noises (WHAT NOISES?). In the middle of one night, I woke up with a really loud music playing on the room above us. I saw two couples checking in and 5 minutes later checking out because of the disgusting conditions of the rooms. One of them showed us pictures, the room had no towel, no toilet paper and a lot of roaches poop on the bed sheets, floor and walls. If this hotel was free, it would still be the most expensive one that exists. I hope nobody ever has to face a situation like me and my friends, this is not right and I hope booking consider my comments because after this I will think twice before renting on this app again. They could ruined our entire trip. And to you, owner of this property, you should be embarrassed to come here to answer the comments instead of taking some action to fix those issues, not even animals should sleep on a place like that. Have some respect for the people who give you money, upload some reals photos about the rooms because the ones you put on here are totally fake, or close that terrible please you call a hotel. I'm pretty sure these comments here that are recommending this place are people related to the owner because there is no way any human being would recommend this place. And please owner, don’t reply this comment with automatic answers saying you’re sorry because clearly you’re not, anyone that ever went to that...
