Rooms were great for the price point, but TERRIBLE service! I hope the Aloft hotel owners read this and take some corrective action so that this isn’t repeated with other customers in future.
I had booked the aloft cupertino for 31st Dec 2017 and 1st Jan 2018 with 1st Jan being my first wedding anniversary. I had called thrice to confirm with the hotel prior to my check in to arrange some celebrations in my room as it was my first anniversary and I wanted to surprise my husband. After calling them for the third time, just two days before the check in, the hotel manager/receptionist assured me that they had my request in and would set up balloons/ champagne/ celebrations for my anniversary in our room during check in (on the 31st). I was obviously annoyed to enter my room on 31st to a plain room with nothing whatsoever, when I checked in with the receptionist she just responded “ the bar isn’t open now, I’ll send you champagne once that opens” in such a cold tone as if I was asking her for her her money/gold. The manager later called in and said there was some miscommunication, and since my anniversary was on 1st they would be doing it on the 1st when we went out for lunch/in the morning. I reconfirmed with the hotel manager stating that if it would be difficult to arrange all this on the 1st Jan (as they would be understaffed) and he promised that everything will be taken care of. 5 pm on 1st evening, not a single thing done, manager on vacation (OBVIOUSLY), receptionist clueless about the request upon enquiring her at the evening. I was utterly disappointed. The worst part being, I didn’t even ask for anything complimentary, I had told them multiple times, even given my credit card details that I was willing to pay for all the expenses. All I wanted was a surprise and special 1st anniversary celebration, but the staff was plain rude, the manager didn’t seem to give a damn (all lies and fake promises) and didn’t even respond to my messages on 1st when I tried reaching out to his personal number. Finally, I had to ensure with the reception that they not send me something at check-out on 2nd and charge my credit card for something I didn’t want/not receive. Instead of getting surprised and enjoying a wedding anniversary, I spent the whole time talking to the reception asking “where my surprise/ planned celebrations was”! Never have I received such terrible service in the entire United States. If one cannot provide the requested service, why fake promise/guarantee the customer that “ our hotel is usually pretty good about celebrating anniversary/special occasions”! I would never stay in Aloft ever again, and I will never recommend this terrible hotel to any of the people I know! WORST SERVICE ever! I hope the management reads this review and ensures that the other customers don’t have to endure this pain especially during a...
