I have been using this store for a long long time, never expected a birthday cake stolen. I ordered the cake by phone on Wednesday and paid with credit card. I got a picture of the receipt. On Saturday I had my family to pick up the cake. He was told it’s already picked up by someone else. My family had to purchase another one (which was not the one I wanted) so we could have a birthday cake. It turned out someone stole the receipt from the store which I didn’t have to pick up the cake. When I told the store manager about it, she couldn’t give me the refund nor give me a cake because someone already picked it up. She would rather have her truthful customer take the lose. I was told this thing never happened. Well, if you don’t do something to prevent it from happening again, it will happen again since the thief didn’t have any consequences. Lock up your paid receipt please. Don’t leave it in a place that anyone who comes in can take a picture or steal the receipt. I suggest you don’t prepay your order. Your order can be stolen here. The store owner/manager gave me two piece of their pastries as an apology at the end. Thanks for that gesture but I wanted my cake! Sorry, you are losing at least one customer. I give three stars because they did pay effort to help me to find out what went wrong.
Update: The store owner called me back after a day and admited they are responsible for this problem. She promised me a free cake next time with a condition that I buy some other products they make when I pick it up. Sure, no problem. I appreciate her reconsideration of this issue and trying to make her customer happy. I will go back to the store and continue to be their customer. I do wish this problem will never happen again to any of their customers. Changing the...
Read moreMeh, not for me. I bought a green tea bun as well as one of the green tea swiss roll cakes (I wanted to just try a slice but they didn't offer it in slices, so I had to buy the whole thing). The green tea bun was okay flavor-wise, but the bread was not pillowy and didn't do enough to satisfy my fresh-baked-bread-roll craving. The green tea swiss roll, on the other hand... yikes. I can't remember ever disliking a cake this much. Aside from being too dry (the cake broke up into pieces when I sliced it), it also had way too many red beans stuffed inside it. It's a personal preference; I like little to no red beans in my green tea cakes. But the real offender was the overwhelming floral flavor (jasmine, maybe?) that permeated the cake. It fought with the green tea flavor in every bite. I can't understand why anybody would think that floral flavor belongs in there. I have only eaten one slice, but I plan to toss the rest of it out. It's completely inedible.
The only reason this place is getting 2 stars instead of 1 is because the green tea bun was passable... not great, but...
Read moreDishonest employees will destroy the business eventually.
I booked a birthday cake the other day, and picked one but ended up with the one in the display from the cabinet. At pickup time, I saw that the one in the cabinet was gone, and I asked them to confirm that they gave me a fresh one instead of the one on display, but nobody would do it. The employees (two older ones) just told me: "if you don't believe us there is nothing we can do."
With all the doubts in my head for the rest of the day, but still I didn't want it to screw up the birthday party, so I didn't talk to my wife until after one week, when I wanted to throw out the leftovers from the reg. Kids didn't want anything from it right after the first night, and everyone in the household agreed that it didn't taste good at all. Note that we have been loyal customers for a long time, but now, we have been pushed away.
Did you know that your dishonesty just cost your business, and eventually your career???
