In my fifty years, this was the worst hotel experience. This simple extended stay was a nightmare my partner and I will never forget. Looking back on it today, the only reasonable explanation is discrimination due to health issues, and sexual orientation.
The young women at the front desk, the gentleman who worked nights, and the manager, Paul Cordova treated me with disrespect, contempt, and utterly unacceptable behavior and deeds. World of Hyatt tried to intervene on my behalf, but the front desk manager repeatedly intercepted my complaints before the general manager ever read them or knew of my troubles. No matter what I was told by the desk help, they would all change their story to fit the narrative of the front desk supervisor.
I was deliberately and erroneously overcharged, and threatened with termination of my reservation and removal from the property if I didn’t comply with their constantly changing hotel policies. The Hyatt House Lincoln Park policies are determined by the staff & General Manager, not World of Hyatt.
My final days were so stressful I lost weight, lost business, and my soul felt crushed by bad human beings. There was no hospitalities, only abuses.
Corporate customer service restored my reward points and corrected my last reservation. I was told they had spoken to the General manager, Paul Cordova, and he agreed to restoring my points and my reservation. He did not!
He said he never told corporate he would honor their decisions and he had his hotel “ security “ wait for us to clear out of the suite. My partner had a playdate with his granddaughter scheduled at the very moment they were harassing us to collect our things and threatening to throw all of our belongings in the dumpster.
It was shocking. This entire incident has hurt my faith in humanity. I nearly died of Sepsis in 2022. I had several bouts of Covid, and I have a degenerative, crippling disease in my hands. I’m a quiet introvert. I hate confrontation and I did everything I could to comply with their dysfunctional business practices. My partner even tried to reason with the front desk employees and the General manager, Paul Cardova to no avail.
Customer service is dead today. Mr Cardova wrote me an email to apologize for a mistake or two, but then banned me from ever returning to his hotel. He then wrote fraudulent statements about me in my customer profile to get other hotels to not welcome me and harass me every time I check in.
I’m staying at Hyatt Regency as I write this review. I was here two weeks ago. My stay was incredible. My Globalist status got me upgraded into a gorgeous suite. When I arrived here two days ago, I was told a manager would need to approve my stay. Furthermore, I was told they could not upgrade my room even though the hotel was empty.
My life mantra is, Do No Harm
The Hyatt Hotels have done great harm to me and my partner. They have harmed our wellbeing.
To follow my character and to live in my truth and integrity, I cannot tell you to choose a better hotel. I can tell you this group of people treated me abominably and to spare yourself and anyone you love the abuse these cruel people are capable of perpetuating.
Father God, forgive them. They know not...
Read moreI was there for a weekend vacation with my family and I can just say that I was so happy and pleased with our stay here. Booking/Reservation online was easy, and I don’t think it was overpriced at all compared to other hotels downtown that don’t even come with private parking. We arrived after midnight since we drove out of town and had to park upfront but once we got our room keys we were able to park inside their garage parking. Since it was late at night the lobby was closed and can only be opened with room key but there was a door bell to let front desk know you need in. The Room: the room clean and comfortable. It felt like a mini apartment which I loved. We got a King Bed that fit two of us and sofa in the livingroom turned into a full size bed where the other two stayed. It had a mini kitchen that had a microwave, two burner stove top, a sink, a dishwasher, refrigerator and a coffee maker. Cabinets had some plates, bowls and cups. There were also some pots and pans with utensils to cook with. Tv with Dish service and a really nice bathroom a spacious closet for all our things. Parking: there is limited parking up front for free and once you get your room key, you can use it to access the garage parking which i believe I paid a fee for when booking all together and it felt safe. Breakfast: they serve free breakfast everyday from 6am-9am Monday thru Friday and 7am-10am Saturday and Sunday. I loved their breakfast! It was on the first floor by the front desk. Everyday they had something a bit different for the main hot meal but it was always scrambled eggs with a different choice of protein and side for the day. They also always had fruit, yogurt, cereal’s and hot oatmeal with choice of toppings. Beagles, muffins, toast, and English muffins were always available along with fresh orange juice, apple juice, grape juice, milk, water, and coffee. And no, they didn’t stop refilling foods because it was close to the end of breakfast. They kept refilling until the last minute and the lady’s there are so nice! They also had a beautiful pool in the center of the building was open from 10am to 10pm. It so was so relaxing and peaceful. There are trees that bring shaded spots which I loved but there were also plenty of sun area for tanning. Gym I believe was 24hrs with your key and they have a bar too but I don’t remember the hours for that one unfortunately. There were so many stores and restaurants around the area and the highway next to the hotel took you to the city in less than 10 mins. It was a perfect location and amazing place to stay. I will be coming back there when visiting...
Read moreAbsolute dump of a place, with perhaps, the most terrible customer service I have experienced. I was supposed to be staying at this location for 37 days for a work trip, I arrived last night, checked in, was given room 110. I am a globalist with Hyatt, upon check in, the given corporate rate was not honored with free parking, but since a work trip no big deal, as the company can work that out with the hotel. I get to my room and immediately needed to start on some last minute work projects, only to find the wifi was not working. I get connected via my hotspot to get this done, also not a huge deal. I wanted to have some background noise as I worked so I attempted to turn on the tv in the living room (Samsung) to find there was a LG remote in the living room, and a LG TV and remote in bedroom. The remote would not turn on the tv, so I attempted to call the front desk to ask for the appropriate remote for the tv, to discover the phone in the room did not work. I had to go back to the front desk where the lady working told me she wasnt sure what was going on with it, but would find a remote that works and bring it to me. Around 10 minutes later she knocks on the door with another remote that also did not operate the tv, and advised "I will leave a note in the morning". This morning around 5 am I woke up to use the restroom and stepped on a screw that was laying in the floor, which punctured my foot, it was at this point enough was enough and I would be moving from this hotel ASAP, I headed to the shower to prepare for work, only to find the provided shampoo was empty. I would recommend this hotel takes a hard look at their housekeeping staff. I would also like to mention as other reviewers have said, this hotel and the rooms look nothing at all like the pictures on the website. Upon checking out this morning was advised manager would be at 9 to speak with him via phone call, no call, I called back around noon, was told manager still not in but would call as soon as got in, it is now...
