New restaurant located at the high end North Park Mall. We are at that mall frequently but missed this gem! Found it on social media and literally ran over! Reservations are highly recommended, especially for dinner on the weekends. Super lucky to get an early one but opted to sit at the bar which is pretty large. The restaurant itself has a lot of seating and the atmosphere is very chic and cool. Most of the guests are dressed nicely I suggest at least a polo shirt, or jacket, and a dress or suit. The staff were in very nice uniforms so they are definitely the next level. As for the food, the menu has a little bit of everything. We tried the pork potstickers and Asian chicken wrap as appetizers. Our favorite was the gyoza potstickers, the sauce was delicious and just added to the flavor of the gyoza. The chicken wraps were so tasty, a little different, but very good. I just wish that they provided my lettuce as there was a lot of the filling left over. For my entree (already full at this point but pushed on), I chose the 🍝 spaghetti Pomodoro. Per the description, it had Calabrian chile to add some heat but I could have used more. I liked the touch of the Ricotta, but it looked like the dish had pomegranate seeds around the base of the spaghetti and I just cannot understand why,. I liked the spaghetti, but not enough to order it again. I asked for the wedge of garlic bread on the side and that was delicious, nicely toasted and garlicky. My husband got the crab and shrimp cake entree. He liked it, but it is definitely not a traditional crab cake, it had shrimp and corn and thought they were tasty but not what he usually likes. They were served with an unconventional tarter type of sauce underneath which he said was ok. The dish was served with a side arugula salad with radishes which was so light, tasty and refreshing. The staff were very professional and friendly. We were greeted with a glass of champagne when we arrived and that was pretty different and awesome. My one issue was that the gyoza came out first and we finished them, but then the chicken wraps, spaghetti, bread and crab cakes all came out at the same time, so my spaghetti and the crab cakes cooled way down before we could even finish the lettuce wraps. Lastly, as previously mentioned, the menu has something for everyone, and the desserts looked incredible. Next visit, dessert is definitely on the list. The prices for liquor and food are high, so be ready for a larger check. Overall I...
Read moreThis is one of the most well deserved 5 star reviews without hesitation. In a city like Dallas, there are so many trendy new spots to eat, but that doesn’t guarantee a great experience. Joey on the other hand, was exceptional from start to finish. It’s located inside of North Park Mall on the south facing side with ample parking and valet so it’s quite easy to access.
It’s sleek and chic, but incredibly warm aesthetic is well matched by the attitudes of the hostess desk. I hate to say it, but being met with such great energy and welcoming smiles is rare and Joey has somehow captured it. I had a reservation (which is recommended in my opinion) for 3, celebrating all of our birthdays. It was a slower Sunday evening so I was actually seated ahead of my friends which was nice.
Our server Leslie was just as delightful as our entire experience. She was so thorough, attentive, and gave some super solid, descriptive suggestions from the menu that I obliged and couldn’t have been happier. Her and the gorgeous manager in the pink sweater really made our evening.
Speaking of food… The photos explain exactly how we all felt about our meals! I wish we would’ve snapped a before, but it’s the after that tells you the real story. I’m a major foodie, I absolutely love to cook and have a deep understanding of layering flavors. This restaurant does not miss. We had 3 very different meals and not one was better than the other. They were all spectacular. We had the Ravioli Bianco (the eruption of well balanced flavors are insanely delicious), Cajun Blackened Chicken with Warm Potato Salad (oh my goodness), and the Steak Frites w/Lobster Tail add-on (I’ve never tasted an add-on lobster that was so perfectly cooked and seasoned). We all tasted each other’s food and the rest was history. Plates were emptied. So here we are with these ratchet photos I’ve attached lol.
I’m personally putting Joey on regular rotation because I feel like I need to try everything on the menu! I highly recommend this establishment. ——— The updated photos of actual food (lol) on the plate are from my second visit. My husband and I decided to celebrate our anniversary there. They once again over exceeded our expectations. The service and food still amazing and this time they brought flowers to our table to help us celebrate. Super sweet and we’ll never...
Read moreWell… Let’s start by giving a shout out to Local Profile TX on Instagram for suggesting this place on their page. We LOVE a good dress up date night every now and then. We made reservations with EASE. Their mobile website isn’t the friendliest, so we used a laptop, no issues. Made reservations for 8pm four days in advance. Received a follow up email, a text the day before asking for confirmation, and a “we look forward to seeing you” the day of. This gave me great confidence that the surprise dinner I had planned for my wife on her birthday was not going to be an issue.
One- EASY TO FIND. Sits on the outskirts of Northpark mall. Who doesn’t love this mall. Easy parking, we didn’t vallet because when we drive up there was a parking space one row over but it was available, which is always a plus.
Two- we walk in to gorgeous over sized doors to the hostess. Name, reservation, and would we be interested in complementary champagne. Well, yes we would!
Three- reservations promptly adhered to, we sat on the terrace. Wonderful atmosphere. Slim lighting with great under light accents.
Four- Emily was our waitress and she was a doll. Gracious, patient and her smile was genuine. Got our drinks and away we went.
Five: ordered the fish tacos as an app. It was classified as a main, but two tacos and some fries, we figured a nice shareable. I would even suggest they move that over. Perfect entry to our meal.
Six: chicken parm(wife) and steak and sears salmon sushi for me.
Tacos, on POINT! Steak, a little more done than I ordered, I ordered medium rare and it came out medium(which they always over cook so it actually turned out perfect but that’s just from doing this so long). The wife HATES sushi because of the need for seaweed. Well, this came out, NO SEAWEED. She LOVED IT! Score for me because I love sushi and now I know if I’m craving it, we have a place to go!
The only reason I have to give 4 star service is that Emily took a bit too long to bring us out check. I had to flag her down after our drinks were empty to ask for it. Not a deal breaker but maybe bring it her attention that once you’ve bagged leftovers, it’s usually good to ask if check is needed.
But again, overall, this will DEFINITELY be a come back to place. We loved it and can’t wait to try...
