This was not the Marriott experience I was use too or expected.
First, the room I reserved was not available upon arrival. I have to say this is part of the reason why I GAVE STAFF "4 STARS," the representative immediately offered a reduced rate, and noted if I didn't like the room he would change it in the morning. No excuses.
The hallway had an ODD SMELL, I cannot explain it but it wasn't fresh; however, my room was fine.
The previous guest left the air conditioning on auto. When I arrived the room temperature was a little cool but comfortable. I went to sleep immediately and woke up in the middle of the night freezing and sneezing. When I checked the system was set almost as low as it could go, and the blanket on the bed was super light. I couldn't go back to sleep.
There was NO TEA in the room, and the PHONE didn't work. I had to get dress, and go to the front desk for assistance. They said they didn't have any tea, and their small onsite store had NO COLD MEDS. They offered to changed my room but I was already sick and had fixed the temperature in the room.
[Staff directed me to the GAS STATION across the street, which also had no hot tea, limited meds, and no orange juice. I had to locate a 7 Eleven (where the only person there was extremely rude and completely unhelpful.) to obtain some meds, juice, and soup-- not a Marriott issues but part of this whole experience]
I parked my vehicle right outside my window so I could watch it. PARKING IS OPEN, and I didn't see any cameras, so anyone could walk in their parking lot. When I made my reservation I was told I was being charged $6 per day for parking. When I told staff they said I wasn't charged for parking, but there was an unexplained charge for $23.63 on my bill.
There are several entrances to the hotel to make it convenient for guest's to access their room. Unfortunately the entrance closest to my room was BROKEN, so I had to repeatedly walk all the way around to the main entrance, and my room was almost at the end of the hotel.
To top things off I had an uninvited visitor--a BUG arrived in the bathroom (see attached pic). I will say this is the only one I saw but maybe one is enough.
You'll also see the roll-in shower designed that is actually VERY DANGEROUS. After my shower the entire floor was covered with water, and that was hard to see. I wore flip flops so they saved me from slipping and sliding all over the place.
In addition the LIGHTING was not adequate. It looks like they tried to design it to be energy-efficient; which is good, but it wasn't enough light for each area. Therfore, I actually had to turn on more lights to accomplish my tasks.
Still not feeling well I got up for BREAKFAST, which I told was included in my rate--only to find a FEE-BASED set up. I though maybe I got it due to my Bonvoy membership, but apparently membership only has PRIVILEGES if you're using the Marriott credit card. Staff had no resolution to this errand in information.
I received my bill via email and at check out I questioned the extra charge for $23.63. Zee noted they had over charged me, and a credit would be made to my account. However, when they printed the receipt it was exactly the same as the one I received via email. Zee wrote on the receipt that I was due a credit, the amount and signed it. I inquired if she was a manager, and she said "no, she's their part-time front desk attendant." I inquired if a manager was onsite, she pointed to a gentleman standing at the other register, and stated he was the "GM." He heard her, turned around momentarily, looked directly at me, but didn't offer any assistance. That behavior by the GM suggests a lot about his level of interest in guest issues. Zee's assistance was the other reason for giving staff "4 Stars" this definitely does not include the hotel leadership.
I know this is a "3 Star" hotel but that's the best before you do into a "4 Star" hotel, and Marriott USE TO BE a close RIVAL, and a very good choice for your money. That's now...

I stayed at this property unexpectedly as I was in Dallas on a layover and American put me up in this hotel after having me choose between several. I chose this hotel as I am a titanium member and wanted to stay at a Marriott and this was the only choice from the list.
I was disappointed upon arrival to learn that the stay would neither count for points or nights because it was paid for by the airline.
Outside of that…. This hotel is a disaster. I am honestly shocked that it is allowed to stay operating.
First of all, when calling the hotel, the call is answered by people with VERY thick Indian accents. I could not tell what they were saying at all in response to my questions. You need people answering the phones who understand what the customer is asking and who the customer can understand when being responded to.
Then, once I got to the hotel, all hell broke loose. Please keep in mind that this is all around 12 AM
They checked me into room 355. I go to the room and can’t get in. There’s a red light when scanning. I call down to the front desk to ask them to come up and let me into them room. The guy comes up and scans and his turns red as well. After a few more attempts, he knocks on the door and a deep voice echoes from behind the door. The front desk associate then moves away from the door and ushers me towards the elevator. He then asks me to wait a couple minutes as he goes and gets me a different room.
He then checks me into room 356. This time, the keys work. I enter the room and set my stuff down. Finally peace… nope. I go into the bathroom. Dirty glasses on the sink. Used towels. Then I go back into the room and notice the bed is untucked and old room keys on the desk. The room had not been cleaned. I immediately go back into the hall and chase the associate down. Now I am really frustrated and exhausted.
Then after this circus, they finally get me checked into a clean room.
This experience is terrible. Marriott needs to rectify this and that hotel needs a deep...
Read moreI visited Dallas for a wedding party trip. My groomsmen and I stayed at this Courtyard location for 3 nights. Overall, it was an okay stay.
Although, one of the rooms that a groomsman stayed in on the first floor did have ants in it. They were relocated to the third floor which had a dead bug in it as well. The staff offered us Marriott reward points as a means for remedying the situation. We stayed there May 1 - 3. As of today, May 19, we have still not received the reward points, even after I've contacted them about it already. Thus, I'm writing this review given that they haven't stayed true to their word. A caution to those who are reading for consideration if presented with the same offer.
I will say, throughout the entire weekend, the staff members were extremely friendly and welcoming.
Out of the 5 rooms that we book, there was only that one problem. The rest of the rooms were in fair condition.
Location wise, we traveled about 20 - 30 minutes to many of our activities, including Downtown Dallas. Maybe not ideal for those looking for closer commutes, especially if paying for rideshare services. But that goes to say that there are plenty of great restaurants and other hang out locations within that radius.
The hotel was affordable as well. We weren't coming into it expecting a 5-star experience. At the price point that we booked, I would say the experience was fair.
Trying to be fair in my assessment of the stay, I would say that I would visit this location again.
In all, holding up their end of the bargain when it comes to hospitality is my major concern. If there is an infraction in the services provided and a solution is agreed upon, then it is my expectation that they hold true to their commitment.
As of now, they have...
