DO NOT STAY HERE!!! I am a Marriott Lifetime Platinum member and have stayed at Marriott properties all around the world. This was the SINGLE WORST EXPERIENCE I have ever had at a Marriott. I was in Dallas for a National car show in August, 2024 and used points (Bonvoy program) to stay for (2) nights free. The nightmare started when I arrived and the front desk person (not naming them here) was rude and had a ton of attitude telling me my room wasn't ready. I opened my greeting by stating I realize I was early and my room may not be ready. This unfriendly and unprofessional treatment by the Residence Inn Dallas Park Central staff continued throughout my stay. On the first night (Friday) I went to bed early as I would be at the car show the following morning and all day until 9pm and wanted to get as much rest as possible. I was awakened about 10:30pm by what sounded like someone trying to break into my room. As I became awake I could hear someone banging the door against the inside locking mechanism hard and repeatedly. Thinking a robber was about to break into my room I prepared to defend myself. As I got quickly dressed and armed myself I headed to the door but just as I got there the banging stopped. I looked out the peep hole and didn't see anyone. Then only minutes later the phone in my room rang and a female who did not identify herself asked my name. I blurted it out before thinking this could be the people just now trying to break into my room. I didn't call the police .but looking back on the incident I should have. Needless to say I did not get much sleep that night before a 14 hour day at the National car show. To add insult to injury I stopped by the front desk before leaving for the show on Saturday morning and told the front desk staff person I would like a full service on my room. I explained I would be coming home late from the car show and exhausted and wanted a clean room to return to. I did return back to my room around 11pm Saturday night and it was NOT SERVICED. I had dirty protein shakers in the sink, towels on the bathroom floor, bed was a mess. I was completely DISGUSTED.
Upon returning from this trip I contacted Marriott Customer Care and lodged a complaint. Initially I only asked that my points be credited back to my account for the stay. This began THREE WEEKS of e-mails and phone calls to Marriott Customer Care because the General Manager of the Residence Inn Dallas Park Central REFUSED to reinstate my points. At this point I asked for not only the points to be credited back to my account but and additional 20,000 points for the emotional pain and suffering the whole vent had caused and was still causing me. The General Manager continued to refuse any compensation for my atrocious stay. Finally, Marriott Customer Care agreeing that my complaint was valid and serious one credited my stay points back to my account and provided the additional 20,000 pain & suffering points I requested. Marriott came through for me but the Residence Inn Dallas Park Central did not. It became clear to me at the end of this horrible situation that the unprofessional and unfriendly attitudes of the hotel staff emanated from the General Manager. Cultural attitudes in a business flow down from the top. I would never stay at this Marriott property again if it was free and they paid me a bonus in cash. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT STAY AT THE RESIDENCE INN DALLAS...
Read moreThis is by far the most uncomfortable hotel my husband and I have ever stayed in, and we travel a lot. We had the worst night's sleep every single night we were there, and if I had not prepaid for the entire stay, we would have left to another hotel. The beds were like sleeping on a plank of cement with brick pillows to rest your head. There was no way to get comfortable. My husband and I planned this as an enjoyable get away, spending the days at local museums, shops and restaurants and then relaxing after a long day of exploring the city. Unfortunately, we did not receive the relaxation we were hoping for. Besides having the world's most uncomfortable beds, we were put on the second floor and could not find an elevator and were not told of one, so every time we left our room we had to climb up and down 19 stairs. They have a kitchen, which you expect would be fully stocked, but you'll come to find there are a few scarce mismatched dishes and utensils and two small pots, all which looked to be from the dollar store or could have been left by other guests for all we know, given the fact that there were no two dishes alike. We ate almost every meal on our trip at different restaurants throughout the city, but husband and I bought a few little groceries and decided to stay in one night after a long day and just make grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup, as we got hit with a cold front while we there. To our surprise, there was not one pan to be found and only one bowl and spoon, which we had to take turns eating from. Needless to say, that was our first and only meal made in that so-called "kitchen." We ran out of tissues and toilet paper, they were never changed out. There were many stains on the carpet, one large dark one at the foot of the bed and several bright red ones leading toward the bathroom, which really grossed me out as they were probably blood from a woman menstruating. There were several others all over the carpet, throughout the entire room, but those were the most disgusting. The breakfast was good, we enjoyed it on the week days. The weekends were so incredibly crowded you could not find a table. There is not enough seating in the dining room. We did not go to the pool as it was out doors and we got a cold front during...
Read moreMy husband and I were attending a conference at a large hotel a block or two away. We choose to stay at the Residence Inn because not only were the room rates less, the rooms were larger, breakfast was included and it had a full kitchen so we could say on meals not eating out. it really worked out well for us. It was a short walk along a pretty tree-lined back road away from traffic. We were able to make simple quick meals for lunches and dinner. I was soo impressed to see that we could have ordered groceries and they would have been delivered straight to our room! It was awesome to have our own kitchen! It was also really nice to have a separate bedroom!! Everything was spotlessly clean and I am extremely picky about that! But the true shining star was the breakfast each morning!!!! Breakfast was PHENOMENAL every day!! Sooo much variety. I chose different stuff each of the 4 mornings we stayed. All of the staff were super friendly and helpful, esp one of the morning breakfast ladies. I should have gotten her name but she had the brightest, most beautiful smile!!! Clearly it was a joy to her to serve guests! She made mornings even more special than the food. :o) Also, we were grilling out one evening and struggling to get the gas grill to light properly. One of the maintenance men randomly happened to pass by, stopped and volunteered to help! Most times (at many hotels) the staff are intent on what they are doing and seldom bother noticing if others need something. This gentleman not only stopped what he was doing to come over and ask if we needed help, but checked on us again the next time he went by. I was blown away! And the front desk lady was very helpful and sweet each time we came looking for a snack from the coolers or more coffee or hot chocolate or whatever we needed! The hotel has done a phenomenal job training the staff to be friendly, helpful and to go out of their way to provide EXCELLENT customer service!!! I was thoroughly Wowed!! All in all, it was a phenomenal stay!!! If alllll Residence Inns are like this location, I will definitely want to stay every time!! Thank you for helping to make our conference fun, rewarding, affordable and...
