The Palm Beaches - a perfect winter getaway destination Bid adieu to the NYC winter blues and enjoy @palmbeachesfl in Florida, America’s First Resort Destination. The Palm Beaches is comprised of 39 beautiful towns and cities. This weekend, I am visiting Delray Beach, a small city on Florida’s southeast coast. It is home to the Pineapple Grove Arts District filled with public art and galleries, Cornell Art Museum, @MorikamiMuseum and Japanese Gardens, and the amazing Wakodahatchee Wetlands, a park featuring a raised boardwalk with awe-inspiring views of birds, turtles and alligators, a must-see when you’re visiting Delray Beach. Where to stay: @TheRayHotel a tropical luxury that blends a modern and eclectic design aesthetic in the heart of Delray Beach. I am enjoying my stay at this beautiful hotel and I highly recommend it. There is nothing like a winter getaway to The Palm Beaches! Consider visiting The Palm Beaches in your next travel plans. #ThePalmBeaches #AD #palmbeach #palmbeachesdining #delraybeach #delraybeachfl #delraybeachflorida #morikamimuseum #rayhotel #wakodahatcheewetlands #FlyPBI

STOP BY. Amazing modern art and very cheap (especially for students!). This is an old schoolhouse that was recently renovated following a generous donation in 2017. The lady who welcomed us was so passionate about the museum she took 5 minutes to privately tell us about the history of the schoolhouse and how it became what it is today. At time of visit, there were 6 rooms each with art from an artist who was mandated to fill the room. The theme was immersion. Upon entering a room, some of which were dark and closed by black curtains, you came into the artist's world, their mind, their thoughts. Loved the experience. Wasn't expecting that at all in Delray Beach.

It wasn't our original plan to go here, but we're very glad our plans got mixed up. This is a truly lovely gallery space. The exhibits were beautiful, and I constantly felt myself going, "I wish I could buy this piece. It's very reasonably priced, but I can't afford it." And I think that's important in a gallery showing. The pieces on sale really reflected their worth, and we got to learn about a bunch of new artists. I'm sorry we don't live closer so we can go back more regularly.

It's a beautiful building. It is easy to find. There is no other structure that looks like this around. It has two floors and an elevator. The staff was knowledgeable and wonderful. I enjoyed my time here. I came for Artwalk. It is something the city does monthly. The event is free. You can make donations if you wish and it is nicely organized. As I walked in they gave me a fryer and explained a little about the Artwalk to me. They had a talented musician playing and light snacks. The parking is street parking. There is parking all around and a garage. The area gets crowded...

I went strictly for my friend Sonya's art/fashion exhibition. Frankly never heard of the museum before Sonya told me. In fairness I don't live in Delray. Easy to find, everyone was warm and friendly that worked there. It's set up as a 4 square. Each room spacious and well lite. Downside, air conditioning needs to be serviced. Tonight was the season opening. Either it was an oversight or not a priority. Definitely needs looking after. Gift shop set up not inspiring. The exhibition...
