Might have been nice 20 yrs ago. Staff is friendly, but lots of reasons to avoid this place. I took a gamble based on the 4+ average rating, but reading most of the reviews they seem to be more for the sports bar bartender than the hotel.

First off, be aware this is just outside one of the rougher parts of Denver. I was aware of this and it did not factor into my review. This is more a heads up for people from out of town. Do not plan on walking or using public transport from here. Outside of the property, you will be approached by homeless, you will witness public "hard" drug use, and you will hear gunfire. In two days and nights, I heard gunfire at least 5 times from my room.

Not sure if this is normal for Double Trees, but this place feels designed to nickel and dime you. Parking is fenced in with "on site security" (just a parked van that says security on the side) and you pay $18/night to use it (not mentioned on 3rd party booking sites). They provide free wifi, but it's severely rate limited unless you pay $9 per day to upgrade it. They provide two free coffee pods, but have an up-priced Starbucks in the lobby.

You cannot have any outside food delivered to your room because the elevators are key card controlled (which would have been nice to be told at check-in). However you can pay a room service fee to have food from their lobby restaurant (right priced for Denver, but low quality and small portions) brought up. First hotel I've ever stayed in where you can't have local pizza delivered to your room...

The general state of disrepair across the facility is a bit shocking; is there no maintenance staff? Light bulbs in some of the elevators are burnt out leaving them exceptionally dark. Everything mounted to the walls in the hotel is barely hanging on. It's surprising the bathroom towel rack can even hold the weight of towels anymore. The closet door (that hides the tiniest mini fridge I've ever seen) is about to fall off of it's tracks that are, in turn, about to pull out of the wall itself. Clear water damage on the ceiling of the bathroom and beneath the exterior window.

It seems clean on a surface level (no bugs in my room) but my bed being made with two flat sheets (no fitted sheet) and shoes being left behind by a previous guest make me question the cleaning staff's...

Disappointed. The Hotel lobby was a lot nicer than the actual room. Partially broken TV, no information packet/card, dirty window, and almost no channels on the TV either. This is also the first time I've had to pay extra for parking at a hotel (15$ a day) and in spite of that there were almost no spaces at all. Ended up having to park all the way around the back near the dumpsters and walk around the building just to get in. The furniture in the room was cheap and in poor condition. Rock hard, cheap mattress (even by hotel standards) and even cheaper pillows. The bathroom was the only part that seemed well furnished however I was disappointed to find almost no soaps, shampoos, etc Were provided. Instead of the traditional system this hotel uses refillable containers which are mounted on the wall. Just felt kind of stingy to me and I've never seen that done in any other hotel I've stayed at. The pool/hot tub area was also entirely closed off for remodeling however this was not mentioned at all when I booked the room online so it came as an unpleasant surprise upon our arrival. If I had been made aware of this detail I would probably have booked a completely different hotel instead but sadly the listing made no mention of it at all and simply said the hotel had a pool/hot tub. Service at the front desk was also pretty slow, had to stand in the lobby for almost half an hour just to check in. I would like to say that in spite of this the service from the employees was actually good and I thought they seemed very nice. If anything the slow service at the front desk was more due to understaffing. Overall I can't say anything positive about this place. For the price point it should have been better. It looks a lot nicer from the outside and from pictures of the lobby/first floor areas but the actual hotel part is far less polished. Also, there was this annoying security car which for some reason would drive around the parking lot with these extremely bright flashing lights on top which were seemingly always on. I guess it's good that the hotel is trying to keep the property secure but the constant presence of this car and its annoying lights gave the place a bad vibe and made me wonder why it was...

After about 20 hrs of hitting the road from Missouri, we were met by a front desk staff who seems to be unhappy with her work. I've been travelling half of my life with so many hotel stays, this is the least that i expect from a "4-star" hotel. I don't always care much about these things but that didn't end there. She answers our questions in a manner that you wouldn't want to ask questions again, i don't really know where that mood came from and that's the reason why I was not properly informed about an 18 dollar parking fee per night that was charged to my card. I was also not informed that they would not give another set of water aside from what they had offered on the first day, while most hotels replenish supplies every day.. We stayed for 3 days and it is a bit of a hassle to go down to the bar just to ask water especially if you have an infant with you the room. I did not allow room service because we have a baby in the room but when I called front desk for replenish of supplies, i was told to come down and get it. šŸ˜„I thought it was a joke! Prior to our stay in this hotel we stayed in a 2 star hotel/inn halfway down the trip to Denver and it was completely an opposite experience...the staff was super friendly, we are well informed and we felt super comfy after a long trip. My point in this review is that, hotel stays are part of the vacation and not just a place to sleep at night and if you pay for a good stay but got disappointed by the least you would expect the disappointment would come from which is the front desk, i would rather not go back to this hotel and would also not recommend to my friends who plans to go to Denver after seeing my nice pictures. The location is not good either and you pay 18 dollars a night for parking lot that they are not liable for any loss. That is absurd. How this hotel became a 4-star when i didn't even see a single bellboy? I saw many options before I booked my 3 night stay in this hotel but I relied on the positive reviews i read and after being here myself i kinda wonder who wrote...
