Don't bother with this location if you need anything beyond a simple purchase (and no returns).
I ordered a pre-owned console on 1/18 and it arrived 3 days ago (1/24). According to the return policy on GameStop.com, pre-owned consoles ordered on a regular account can be returned within 7 days of delivery (15 days if you have a pro account). Meaning, I have through 1/30 to return the item.
After finding my account and my order, the first store associate told me the system wouldn't allow the return because the return window expired on 1/27 (which happens to be the date I was there). I clarified that the item was delivered on 1/24, which means returning today (1/27) should have been well within the return window. Then he called his co-worker over, who didn't even bother to take the time to look at my order details or my info. The immediate response he provided was basically "We can't really do anything about it except an even exchange." I asked him to confirm that the return policy allows returns within 7 days of delivery, to which he replied "You have 7 days from the date of purchase to return the item." ???????
Not only is that incorrect (as confirmed by another GameStop store + online customer service), but it didn't make any sense based on the info they had. They told me the return window expired on 1/27, which was 10 days after the purchase date... not 7...
Needless to say, it was very clear that these employees were intentionally misquoting their return policy to fit their narrative and not help. Gross.
I called a second location who was kind enough to confirm the policy and even went as far as to confirm that their POS would issue the return...
Read moreI went to trade in a few games for the 40% additional trade in credit towards the Switch 2. When I walked in I first mentioned this was my intent and get the additional trade in credit.
After he scanned the games it came to be 13 dollars less than what I calculated and I asked what the values came to be. He said this went up from 6.00 to 6.60 etc. Which is not a 40% increase and sounded like the 10% pro member credit.
I mentioned again and was absolutely confused. Then another worker says that the 40% comes during the purchase of the Switch 2. Which the I was like ok sure and signed the pad.
I went to the car and did some research and found that the credit is only towards Switch 2 games, not for the console itself. So I went back in and asked if I should have done the credit towards a game instead and both shrugged. They said it basically doesn't matter now it is all finalized.
So I'm SOL. They said yep.
Clearly they don't know what their own promotions are and don't listen to the customers needs. Terrible interaction...
Read moreThe store was packed; they had boxes in front of products so that I couldn't see what I wanted to buy (I mean there were 5 boxes on top of each other) and then there were things thrown around on shelves, so it was hard to see (I am handicap so I can't bend to see things without help) and no one offered because they were too busy talking about other stores getting products! When I finally purchased, I got my new membership renewed, but never was offered anything else, like what comes with it (my membership had lapsed for a bit). I was very disappointed...
