Generally I give food service workers some grace as their job has many awkward and difficult interactions, but sometimes, a poor review is all that can be given.
I came here with my girlfriend and her family on recommendation and the promise of some great tasting food. Luckily we made reservations that enabled a fairly quick seating assuming all party members are there, a point enforced by their hostess (More on her later).
I'll admit, the food was excellent. They delivered on the promise on every aspect of tase and variety. From the beignets to the salmon Benedict, food arrived quickly and warm. But that was pretty much the only thing delivered.
The first sign of a less than adequate experience came from our less than pleasant hostess(she was not having it that day) is when she sat us at our table by performing a drive by toss of menus onto the center of the table before she vanished. A lack of plating for shareables was overlooked with the idea that we could just "ask" for such the moment staff was within range. Foolish of us to think so. The hostess that seemed to loathe our very presence couldn't be bothered inbetween sets of applying her foundation and lipgloss at the check in podium. An audible "excuse me" came from our table a couple times as she passed through the less than 2ft distance from her station and our table. We did get assistance eventually from what looked like a jovial manager/lead figure that was going around rubbing elbows and checking on guests.
Our first server did spill some cream and drinks on one party member, but we get accidents happen. And we didn't hold it against him. He was doing his best to juggle a busy Sunday brunch. But the lack of attention from the place after was no accident. Our next server to appear, after not having refills or being checked on for quite some time, frame one came up to ask us a single question. "Boxes anyone?" I was kinda shook. We were still clearly eating. Maybe 3/4 of the food was eaten and we had not even been seated for an hour! I'd read sometimes busy brunch spots try to rush people to make room, for other guests waiting, but their were empty tables and no one waiting to be seated. Just tell me you hate me.
Overall we enjoyed the meal and time spent together. Pricing and portion size is fair or dare I say great! And the space gives decent enough room to feel private yet spaced out from other patrons. If I visited Colorado in the future, I wouldn't plan on visiting again.

Read moreThis is a brunch go to IN THE STATE OF COLORADO. I felt right back at home down south, the food was absolutely amazing To start the building was a bit hot, but the service and food made up for the mild temperature inside of the building. I came in around 1 pm and was able to be seated immediately at the bar. The bar (including behind the bar) was organized and spotless. Note for first timers that they do a 3.5% safety and health surcharge for the employees. I started with the Sunrise Mimosa which was orange juice, tequila, with sparkling wine, and a splash of grenadine. My server John was able to make my drink in literally less than 10 seconds WHILE multitasking. It was just okay in my opinion. I wish I had a hint of sweetness there to cut the tartness of the OJ and the slight bitterness from the tequila. One things for sure it definitely gives you a nice buzz. I ordered the Classic Beignets for my appetizer and the Four Friends Grits for my entree. Both were served hot and fresh. The beignets were very good and more on the savory side with a dash of sweetness. The creme anglaise was subtle in taste but a nice creamy addition to the plate, and the berry preserves brightened up the entire palate. The first time my Four Friends Grits came out it didn't have chicken, I notified John and he apologized and got it fixed quickly. When the food came out not even five minutes later, even though I expected bigger pieces of chicken, I was happy to note that the food was hot and fresh which lets me know they did not just add the chicken to my already made bowl, but remade it all together and that I appreciate. The chicken was insanely juicy, crispy, and tender. The grits were cheesy and made you feel warm inside like a good home cooked meal. The only con to my plate was the fact that the collard greens added a bit more liquid than I would have liked and took away from the food. Also the collard greens were not all that great to eat as leftovers. The Food makes you feel happy, warm, and excited to eat another bite! I want to personally kiss and thank the chef myself for such a delicious meal. John my server delivered great customer service and provided immaculate service. Will be back with family, friends,...

No tables were open except for the communal table and I dislike those even more then counter seating so I opted for counter. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of personal space and elbow room. As you can see in the pic, copious amounts of area even with condiments. Just a side note, parking is pretty limited so prepare to do a bit of walking, though this district is all sidewalked so shouldn't be any sort of accessibility issues. I interacted with at least three different staff members and all were exceptionally pleasant and customer oriented. Kudos team for keeping such a positive attitude during these trying times! Ok, the food. The menu isn't too small or over loaded and had a good selection whether you are looking for savory or sweet as far as I am concerned. I ordered the "Kitchen Sink" setup as two eggs over medium, maple ham, BBQ potatoes and a pancake. Can't get much simpler than that. I received 2 eggs definitely not medium, bacon not ham, bbq potatoes and a very under done pancake. Now I will usually not abide receiving an order this wrong but I was hungry so I did not protest. That being said, I ate the whole meal including all the potatoes which I rarely complete. Yes, the pancake was quite under done but still very tasty and there wasn't any uncooked albumin in my eggs, also... bacon instead if ham, is that really an issue? Now you may have read BBQ potatoes and thought, "Umm, not at breakfast?" but these things were perfect, not slathered in a barbecue sauce but rather lightly powdered with a BBQ dry seasoning. I thought they complemented the meal perfectly. Who knew? I had coffee as well which I tend to like stronger then most people I interact with and Four Friends java did not disappoint. I expect it was simple drip brewed but it came out smooth, flavorful and lacked the bitterness that sometimes comes with using cheap ground beans. Oh, I almost forgot, they do have alcohol infused drinks available though I did not partake. Overall, I enjoyed the meal and would definitely give Four Friends Kitchen another visit even with a...
