So Google family.....once more I am online one wonderful day, searching for a reasonable and "un-janky" room on a busy pre-fourth holiday weekend and mind you I am on priceline....so I come across the Scottish Inn with a total of 77.97 with no listing of hotel deposit right? Looks decent enough that with detail of having a nice breakfast so I book it. Something dawns on me to call and check for a deposit and Melissa said 25.00 due upon check in cash or charge right? Don't sound too bad so I go for it.
When I check in Akil does his best but hasn't quite built rapport with me and put me in a room after making some adjustments and I am in for the night.
But am informed of NO BREAKFAST and not even coffee. So yes Google family they have no breakfast. They have snacks and soda at the front desk for two and three dollars. Laundry facilities looks to be about 1.50 to 2.00 and ice machine is there. Wifi is basic and there are huge hornets by the door so don't have your kids out there in the day time. There is an ice cream vending machine outside in front with most stuff 2 and 3 dollars.
Next day even though I called back and informed Emily of my business endeavors which she was also kind, the manager Deepa takes over.
She is very unprofessional and talks extremely fast with no respect and gets irritated with having to accommodate. She put me in another room because of all the bathtub bugs you see in the picture. After going off on me by phone of my business meeting running late we when got there a little after 1230 which the front desk staff was made aware of this during check in so that phone call was maniacal in itself. After finally checking in the second day she put me in a terrible dog smelling room with a leaky sink and more bugs, I had to spray the curtains and beds and walls to keep from being nauseous. The dog smell was so bad the neighborhood dogs followed me around when I walked to the store. And when asking for clean sheets when the double bed room ( claiming that was all the rooms they had) had stains and makeup on the sheets, she ensured me they were clean and got more irritated like I was a problem and even though I had reservations for two more nights she wanted me to check out early and wanted me off the property.
So Google family I posted pics as proof but that 77.97 came with a price.
To HIHotels International Hospitality Group, I am praying for the manager lady named Deepa to get better at her "care" of people spending their hard earned money that need someone to lay their heads. This world is very unique and the struggle is already real. Last thing people need is being treated like that if they spending money at...
Read moreHey all!
Spent nearly 2 months here! This location in the area is so perfect. It's central if you're a walker like me.... everything is close!
15 minutes from Dallas proper!
Service is to be desired... I stayed extended, which, until 2 days ago, yes 56 days into staying- they changed policy.
I'm ok with that. It's not what they said, it's how they said it. Which is my main gripe about this business. I conduct myself as a good consumer should- after 43 years of living on the planet- I feel I have some decent insight.
Context: I would stay here again if the management and staff were more approachable! I know I'm just some weary traveler, but in that, the people at businesses I frequent are mostly the people I see the most. So I attempt to connect. Here, my approach wasn't usable, so I adapted.
There are some pics accompanying this post. They indicate some of the "communication" issues I have spoken of.
The first day, I asked if they could put a door sweep on the door. There is a 3/4" gap under where people or things- specifically crickets and snakes could encroach- they never addressed it after multiple reminders. I bought a 5-dollar so at Walmart for the stay.
The security chain is so worn that it just failed and popped apart where the chain meets the keeper on the door jamb. Again, I brought it to the office, signified it was broken, However, for today, I would be comfortable using the dead bolt. That was 6 days ago.
The service is not on a schedule, They come at 11 through 5. Each day was different- I only asked for a 2-day-a-week cleaning and I would take the task of changing the linens in between. This wasn't always smooth because there is a lack of available clean linens.
The wifi much be logged onto 4 times a day. 4 times!!
2 people work here who are particularly nice. 2...
Read moreHorrible place. Was in town for an orientation for a week from out of state. I am a father of 3 with oldest at 23. My orientation times was from 8am to 4pm while kids stayed in motel room to be in comfort. I paid 3 days in advance with anticipation of paying for an additional two more. Upon 3rd day they called me while at work for payment or they would put my children out in 100 degree plus weather at noon. I offered to pay by card over phone as I was at orientation that time or else I would pay in person after done with work day. They refused payment over the phone and threaten to put my family out if not arrived in 20 minutes. I was 30 minutes away in downtown plus traffic and had to leave my orientation to pick up my kids to make sure they were not thrown out there in the heat. I found it very odd that they could not just charge my card or accept payment over phone like other professional agencies can. At least an online payment system would have worked as well. I will never recommend this place. They never even gave us fresh towels or even came to collect the trash and change it during our 3 days present. They treated us like dogs. This treatment will be remembered and shared among my colleagues at work,...
