Baymont by Wyndham Dallas South-DeSoto — Hotel in DeSoto

Google family.....this used to by the LaQuinta next to the Mac Haik ford dealership right off of pleasant run and 35. I guess they renovated it and turned it into the Baymont.||After you pass the pleasant run traffic light dont move too fast because you will pass it right after the Lubys......|They have completely upgraded this property, and yes it is ran by Wyndham Rewards still. The service is exceptional. |(SHOUT OUT TO MS TAMMY, MS ANNA, MS KATRINA WHOM ALL DID A GREAT JOB IN TAKING CARE OF US DURING OUR STAY.!!!!!)|The rooms are spacious with great views and clean; the toiletries are good and dont dry my skin out, and they have $2.00 per wash and dry for the families that need to wash their clothes and it only takes coins. Yes there is a dispenser inside the little laundry area with detergent and fabric softener if you need it.|For my ice crunching lovers? They happen to have a ice machine on every floor, but ladies they have the crunchable ice that is in those little cubes better than QuikTrip lol. Never seen a hospitality property do this one. |Do they have breakfast with the cool waffles? Yes they do, and milk/cereal/muffins/toast/hot items too.....they also have an inside pool with only four feet but it has a hot tub......fitness center and business center as well. Most of the facilities only open 9am to 9pm though.|There is a Kroger, Jennys Hair store, wendys, long john silver, lubys, quiktrip, dutch bros coffee, cicis, chipotle, on the border, outback, ross and rainbow for shopping, etc.....try...

I was in town recently and I knew I only needed a room to sleep so I booked this spot. I usually book Marriott but considering the quick trip i booked here since it was close to the event. Well where do I start? 1st the pic on the site I used to book this hotel was a pic of a brand new La Quinta. When I drove up I was lost because it was a different hotel. Just by the looks of this hotel, I would not have booked it. It was very upsetting to see. When I walked in, I was pleasantly Pleased with a nice lobby. When we turned the corner, there were signs of holes in the wall that had been fixed Very poorly. The smell of marijuana was reeking from the rooms on the bottom floor. When we got to the room, we were surprised at how old everything looked. The restroom fixtures should have been changed years ago. From rusty hinges, crack tiles holes in the walls that have been patched up poorly to a toilet that when it flushed woke up, everybody on the floor. The furniture was old and scratched up, let's not even mention the mattresses that creaked with every movement. I can honestly say I will never come back to this hotel again. What's upsetting, Is the price per night was not cheap, you would expect a better quality hotel for the price. I do not recommend, i honestly feel like I should ask for my money...

To whom it may concern,

I stayed at the hotel from March 18th to 20th. Upon my arrival, I observed that the hotel appeared to be quite crowded. During my stay, there was an incident involving another guest. Despite this, I continued with my visit.

However, later that evening, my husband, children, and grandchildren were trapped in an elevator for approximately 30 to 45 minutes. Unfortunately, there was a lack of urgency in addressing the situation. I was shocked and considered calling emergency services, but chose to allow the staff to handle the situation.

From that night until the end of our stay, the elevator remained out of service while we were on the fourth floor. I have a condition affecting my knee, and no accommodations or assistance were provided. No one from the hotel offered an apology for the inconvenience.

When I checked out, I requested a discount due to these issues. The staff member at the front desk assured me that the manager would contact me, but I have not yet received any communication. Despite multiple attempts to follow up, I have been told the manager is unavailable each time.
