I wish I would have read more reviews. So, my party had a reservation here, but I was going to arrive a day ahead. The reservation being in my father's name, the lady the first night let me check in since I knew the name (a difficult name) and had the reservation number. Well, they made a mistake and gave us a single bed room because of overbooking. This would be fine since I was alone for the first night, but meant I had to essentially check out in the morning so I could go to my business meetings and would have to check back in when I got back to get the two-bed room. They couldn't give me the key in the morning because there were still people in the new room they were giving us. Well, the rest of my party finally got to the room before me as I had to stay out with a client until late. When I got back at 1am, I went to the front desk to get a new key to the new room (again, I knew the name, reservation number, AND room number for my party). The lady the second night simply would not give me a key, making me have to go up and wake up everyone at 1am in order to get a key from them. Even though it was THEIR mistake that made us have to change rooms, leaving me without a key to the new room. So not only did I have to pack all my stuff back up after my first night and go spend 12 meeting clients, I wasn't given access to my new room after they basically kicked me out for the day and I had to wake up an exhausted team at 1 am so that I could get a key. Not looking forward to the next 5 nights at this place. Breakfast this morning was terrible. Non existent, really. This will definitely be a first and last for me. I wish enough people would read these reviews and choose not to stay here. I know I wish I would have read more of...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI'm pretty sure this hotel uses deceptive practices to get good reviews. If you use the search feature to check against any of their "amenities" by name that are listed on their website, you'll see that nobody is happy with anything listed. Search term "shuttle" leaves oodles of reviews about the lack thereof. I wish I had thought to do that rather than just seeing 53% five-star, a complimentary shuttle, and booking without having a second thought. Never again. Just watch now as this is something the management team knows their shuttle advertisement is dishonest but they aren't going to do anything about it. I don't know how they're getting these 5-star reviews but the general consensus among guests I spoke or even looked up online say the same thing: felt cheated about the shuttle, disappointed in "breakfast", apathetic hotel staff - yet every valid bad review is magically accompanied shortly thereafter by a simple 5-star review the next day that doesn't address any of the amenities (ie search the term "shuttle" - nobody raves about it, many complaints. The five-star reviews are all "wow look at my basic review that doesn't give af about any of the amenities - it has a BED wowww"). As with any rotten business, the responses from "management" are pretty rude tbh "We aren't going to change anything but give us another shot to be exactly the same on your next visit!". Haha. They know there won't be a next visit as they already cheated us out of our money and don't want to own up to what they did. I will find out how they are generating positive reviews, because I'm confident they're cheating in that respect as well. I don't like being cheated and I especially don't like knowing cheaters are getting...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stayed one night at the Extended Stay Doral Miami Airport 87th Avenue. We were arriving in Miami at around 830 in the evening and this hotel was close to the airport, so we wouldn't have to drive far. Since we were in the hotel less than 10 hours, I really didn't care much about amenities and so the hotel was fine I guess. I can't imagine having an extended stay here though. The room was tiny; fortunately we didn't even bring our luggage in or there would have been no room to walk to the bathroom. At least it was reasonably clean, as was the bathroom. And the showers had hot water. That's about everything good I can say about it. We had a delay in getting our luggage at the airport and didn't arrive until about 1030, an hour later than I had estimated when booking the hotel. I can't imagine we're the first to have a delay at MIA and it's not like it was 3 in the morning. When we arrived, the front door was locked so I asked the woman at the front desk to let us in. She refused saying we needed to use our key card. I explained that we needed to check in to get one, but she still refused to let us in. Finally, another hotel guest opened the door to let us in. The young lady in the morning when we checked out was much nicer. The breakfast, if you can even call it that, is a joke. Coffee and granola bars, that's it. Anyway, I guess it was fine for one night since we didn't spend any time at all in the hotel except to sleep, but I really can't imagine spending an extended stay here. I have stayed at other long-term hotels, like Staybridge Suites, and they are much nicer. I would probably never stay at an Extended Stay...
