I would like to say this little place is a gem. It is so clean and snazzy. they have the fried shrimp tempura appetizer which is delish, the breading is just enough that it isn't too heavy and u can enjoy the taste of shrimp and breading. We usually get the hurricane which has salmon and crab which is yummy, we ask for seaweed on the outside which makes it easier to grab without it breaking apart.
We've only been to this location twice. The first time was a great experience the sushi was on point, the shrimp tempura appetizer was perfect and the beer fresh and crisp, the second it was not as amazing as the first but still a positive experience. The beer was warm and the waitress got our order wrong, so we had to wait a little longer, the way the sushi was wrapped was very flimsy. We also ordered the steak noodles and it was EH.... totally not worth the 22 dollars we were charged, the noodles were sticky and under cooked, the steak barely had any flavor and the amount was small for the price, I'll stick to the sushi (see photos below)
They have a sushi bar but nobody can sit at it since it's small and being used for take out delivery orders (they are very busy) . The decor is amazing, they even have a TV in the restroom!
All in all, would I go back? Yes I would, is it a little pricey, yes... not only are u paying for the food but you are paying for the decor, the service etc. What made it worthwhile to me? the manager was on the floor at ALL times, he was running food and helping the servers and the to go orders because it was very busy, not many managers do that.
The first time we were there he came to our table to ask about the food, we mentioned the breading on the shrimp, that was 7 months ago, the second time we went which was last week August 11th he came up to our table to ask us how everything was and remembered us mentioning the comment we made about the breaded shrimp!!! I was totally shocked, I did not expect that.... especially with so many people going in and out of that restaurant I would not expect him to remember us much less our comments on the food since we really aren't regulars. A manager who pays attention to comments and suggestions gets an A+ in my book and a return visit from us. Keep up the great work, I wish all locations were...
Read moreOverall, we were presently surprised. Reading the reviews before we went, expectations weren't very high. Yet it was right across from our hotel, so figured we'd give it a try anyway.
At first I was taken aback when our server didn't greet us or introduce himself, just asking what we'd like to order. After a later discussion with him after our meal, we learned Rudy has only been in the US five of his 18 or so years, his family having been expelled from Cuba for political/religious reasons. It seems he's just still a bit shy, and likely hasn't been serving very long.
When we made an effort to engage him, we found him quite personable. So any perceived rudeness was our misinterpretation, which leaves me a bit embarrassed to admit.
Our sushi arrived in 25 minutes, which I found to be quite reasonable. The two selections we asked Rudy to recommend were better than the rolls we selected ourselves. The Angel something roll he recommend was outstanding. I'm definitely getting that again tomorrow night.
We ate outside, and found it quite pleasant.
Maybe the earlier unpleasant reviews here were seriously addressed by management, as we found the size of the rolls to be quite plentiful. We like to eat a lot of sushi, but only ordered three rolls. Yet those three rolls were plenty to fill us both up, so no complaints there.
We had a $20 bottle of Nagori Sake, so that up'd the bill to $67. At first the bill seemed a bit pricey, but then I remembered I usually drop $45 when out eating sushi alone. Taking that into consideration, for two people it wasn't that pricey at all, especially considering the sake we ordered.
I'll likely eat there again a few times the week...
Read moreTerrible. The food was ok when they get the order right. I used to order over the phone and either pick up or get a delivery. The 1st time they made a huge mistake that ruined my meal I called them, was transferred to a manager who was extremely cocky and rude. I mistakingly chose to continue being their customer. A few days ago I picked up my order for lunch; when I got to my place of employment and opened the bag I realized it was the wrong order. Because of my previous poor experience with the manager over the phone I decided not to call them and show up with the untouched roll after work. I approached the hostess and explained to her what had happened but because she wasn't paying any attention to me she didn't even understand what I was saying and got all defensive; her response had no relation to my issue. She got the manager, I am not sure if he was the same one that I had spoken to after my previous incident. This manager attempted to portray me as a bad guy in the picture and whined that I should have called. When I responded I decided not to based on what had happened to me previously his answer was that I really must have bad luck there. Because of his poor behavior I will never ever order from Sushi Sake again; there are plenty of sushi places in the area where they are happy to welcome customers and admit to their errors as well as gladly correct them when it applies. Sushi Sake is too much of an arrogant place for me considering their food is nothing out...
