Ask if the TVs work first. In my reservation I choose the handicap accessible bathroom with rails for my 76 year old mother. My flight arrived late and I'm in town for a funeral. When I checked in I made sure to reiterate the need for the handicap room. Anthony told me it was a handicap room close to the elevator. Once I got off the elevator it was the room before the last all the way down the hall. Fine It's late I digress. When I got in the room it looked small but I was tired and needed to go get something to eat. Got back to the room with my mom about 130am. She gets ready to take a shower and there are no trails the toilet is too low. I called the front desk and of course Anthony is gone. D'Angelo tries to help but there are no aDA rooms available. My mom almost fell in there shower and I had to lift her off the little toilet with no assistance rails. 3am we're in bed and try to turn the TV on It turns on but no picture. Call the front desk again and was told most of the TVs on the property are out and management is aware. How does management not inform guest that the tv doesn't work. He provided us with a new remote but now we could only get sound no picture. Called the front desk again and was told this a private on Residence. Upon check out instead of giving me a refund they chose to issue points. Now A week later I see they did a hold on my card for $190. When the total stay was $160. They never disclosed it would be a hold. To say I want my money back is an understatement. I'm contacting Marriot directly. I know the Marriot brand and this missed the mark completely. I only gave a 2 because breakfast was awesome and the the kitchen staff kept everything full and hot. Good job kitchen crew. Could have been three stars for the room if the TV worked. Update: In response to the hotel. It may be standard to do an additional hold but it is customer service to again DISCLOSE your being charged an additional fee. I called Marriott and the booking did show handicapp but for some reason the Bonvoy app didn't send the information over to the hotel. Now I know to call and follow up with the booked property when I...
Read moreI booked this room for our cruise out of Miami. While the rooms were great the service was not. The website (Marriott) states that it has a shuttle from the airport. What it doesn't tell you is that it operates for only a limited time everyday. So I booked based on this and wasn't able to use this service because it stopped at 4pm. Secondly it was a cruise weekend so the hotel had a lot of families there. We had the pull out sofa bed which didn't have pillows, when we requested pillows we were told they were out of pillows. So if you plan on using the sofa bed beware whoever uses it will likely be pillowless. Lastly, they also ran out of extra towels and linens (sofa bed) this week and didn't offer any concessions.
tldr; This is about a $35 Lyft XL (cheaper than Uber) from the MIA airport. You will need it because the shuttle only runs for a couple hours a day. I would recommend you schedule with a shuttle company if you want transport to cruise terminal. The ones recommended by the hotel staff were late and unorganized, but ultimately got us there. Lyft XL was about a $50 (likely surge rates) from this hotel. The hotel was beautiful inside with updated and very modern look and feel. The room was nice with good charging stations throughout, and was good setup for our family. My room was a two queen with pull out sofa bed and this was a perfect room size for our large family trip. Breakfast was great and had everything that our family was looking for at a standard...
Read moreThis hotel close to the airport and FIU Engineering Center. The location is pretty safe so you sleep without worry about your car. The hotel is clean, the reception team is great at morning and evening as well. They are helpful and give you what you ask for without any problems. The room was nice and clean. Everything that needed was there. Housekeeping was good except one day she put towels that were not clean again as clean which I wanted to reduce stars for that but I will not do but I would recommend the supervisor to check on who cleaned the rooms, as we had dirty towls that smelled bad as well instead of clean one. There is a laundary room at the hotel that you can use for free but you need to buy the detergents either from the hotel or outside which is great for long term stay. The pool was nice area to sit and stay. The hotel needs to update the enterance at google map as it does not match the true enterance to the parking area. The breakfast was good with a good selection but the eggs were oversalted most of the time. Also just a sugession, as the protien selection changes everyday, consider to have some variety other than only pork based things to consider people who do not eat red meat because only one day had turkey sausage but the rest salty eggs and pork. Overall nice experience and I would recommend this hotel...
