DO NOT BUY FURNITURE FROM RANA THEY SELL FURNITURE WHICH MAKES YOU SICK! I cannot overstate how much I do not recommend buying from this business. We bought a bed frame and when it arrived March 1st it gave off this chemical smell that gave us headaches, made us feel nauseous and made it difficult/impossible to function mentally. The smell was so bad we had to sleep in our living room.
We called Rana the first day and asked if there was anything wrong with the furniture we had. The representative said that the process was normal and recommended we open a window (as if we hadn't done that). The smell was so bad that it forced us to sleep in the living room. Where we stayed for 1 week to 2 weeks waiting for the smell to go away. It didn't
During this time we called Rana and asked multiple times if we could get our money back or simply replace it with a different piece of furniture. We were told that we could have returned it during the first week FOR A 30% RESTOCKING FEE. Once again, this is furniture that was physically making us sick.
Excuses they gave were: 1) on the manufacturers website it says they don't use chemicals like that; 2) because other people hadn't called to complain then what we were experiencing couldn't be happening; and 3) that somehow a bed emitting fumes which makes us sick doesn't count as a manufacturing defect.
We opened a customer service complaint and the representative we worked with told me that the manufacturer would send someone over. THEY NEVER DID and I was told a week or two later that the manufacturer wouldn't for the three reasons cited above. THEY ACTUALLY DID THIS TWICE WHERE I WAS TOLD THEY WOULD SEND SOMEONE OVER FROM THE MANUFACTURER BUT NEVER DID. I DIDN'T EVEN ASK FOR THAT, I ASKED JUST SOMEONE OVER FROM RANA TO SMELL IT. WOULD HAVE TAKEN THEM ALL OF AN HOUR EVERYTHING INCLUDED BUT THEY NEVER DID IT).
I was asked to get a doctor's note and, after a week or two of resisting because I am busy and did not think that a doctor's note would actually prove anything because doctors aren't specialists in poisonous fumes, gave the doctor's note (which said the bed frame was likely making us sick) to the customers service representative. It was during this conversation that the representative told me that it didn't matter and that Rana was not going to give me a refund even though I got the doctor's note that they asked for.
At this point and time we had been sleeping in the living room and afterwards my roommate's' room because the furniture's fumes were so bad that we couldn't be in our room for more than a couple of minutes. LITERALLY GOING IN TO BRUSH MY TEETH AND CHANGE CLOTHES WAS ENOUGH TO GIVE ME A HEADACHE AND NAUSEA. We ultimately stayed in our roommates room/in the living room for about a month before we took the 400$ piece of furniture outside onto our patio. We didn't do this before because there is no cover out on the patio (we rent a small town house) and the furniture is exposed to the sun and rain.
We have had this bed frame for over two months now, it being outside for over one month, and the fumes have still not fully gone away. The furniture is starting to come apart because of the exposure to sun and rain but we literally had no choice because the fumes of the bed frame were so strong and made us feel so sick that we couldn't keep it...
Read moreDO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE. I bought some furniture and they told me the wait time was going to be five weeks so I patiently waited for it to arrive and upon delivery I realized that the furniture with a completely different color than what I ordered. I went back to the store and was basically blown off and told I'd need to speak to the manufacturers customer service. They're basically trying to convince me that I'm crazy and l it's the lighting and I must be looking at it wrong however I took pictures, the driver agreed that it's a different color plus I bought multiple people with me to the store and to see the furniture that was delivered to confirm I'm not nuts. It was suggested that I haul some of my furniture to the showroom floor to compare the two so that I could see that they are actually the same color and when I inquired about if I were to do that and we find that they are in fact different what would be our next steps and was basically told they don't know. Maybe I am crazy but to me the store model clearly looks beige and brown and what was delivered is clearly gray. I do still like the design and I don't even completely hate the gray color but it's the fact that I want what I paid for and they're basically not assisting me at all and calling me crazy that's rubbing me...
Read moreHave purchased dining and when1 hour after delivery discovered a defect and that the table was actually is more staging thing rather than family dining as you couldn’t even lean on it without breaking. So I came to the store same day to exchange and was surprised to discover that i have to pay 20% plus shipment for the defective item which I reported same day. The lady who sold the table confirmed that I could exchange or return if anything never mentioning about the conditions that appeared to be in the contract. I would never go for that and probably she knew. Moreover the penalty fee for the defective item she demanded that i would pay from debit card or with cash! And that was not even on the contract. Seems like the store is not making money on selling items but on the difference of earning on returns and selling again. I offered to buy another set which was more expensive and I was absolutely fine to pay the difference and the delivery, but no they didn’t let to exchange on the item i wanted only that fragile, which is only good to look at. Win-win strategy is not familiar to...
