We checked out the next day (almost 24 hours from when we checked in) October 19, 2021, due to the uncleanness of the hotel room. It is roach infested. We spent the hours we were in the hotel room killing roaches the whole time in the room! It was unclean and the carpet was so dirty our feet were black! The sheets were so threadbare you could see through them and the towels were paper thin! We were even afraid to shower in the unclean tub and shower curtain! Upon arrival we were relieved when we saw the lobby and it looked clean and fresh, upon entering the room we knew we were not at a 5-star hotel of course but cleanliness at any star level should be a must. And with a hotel who invites people to cook and have food pest control should not even be an option! I even found a dead roach in my sheets! Had we not had a funeral the next day we would have left immediately and not even stayed the one night we did stay! I went to the front desk to tell them we were leaving after only one night stay because of the dirty room and a roach infestation and the desk clerk replied, “okay” and then “you are all checked out.” Nothing as to the problem being addressed or I am sorry we will not charge you for the other 2 nights. When we passed the front desk again with our luggage to leave, she just looked away and did not even say goodbye. I was frustrated also when I requested when I made the booking the week before for a rollaway crib for our 1-year-old baby, when I arrived, they said they did not carry cribs, so I had to go and find a store to buy one. Had I gotten an email or phone call to inform me they did not have cribs at their hotel I would have brought one from home! Especially since I had to state on the reservation how old the child was and that I needed a crib. I even sent an email back after the reservation making sure a crib was to be in the room. Having to go for a funeral is hard enough, traveling with a 1-year-old is hard enough, but to have to now go around a town I do not know to find a crib was so uncalled for! I have been a loyal Marriott customer since 2007 and this entire 24-hour stay...
Read moreStayed there in May. There were so many issues. When I booked the room I told the guy I spoke to that my parents had already booked a room and I would like to be next to them if possible. He booked me in a room right next to theirs. When we all checked in my parents room was no longer available and they had to go on a different floor. It wasn't a huge deal to me but it was to my parents because they had a dog with them and wanted the first floor as a convenience. Anyway, I get in my room and notice I have no towels, wash cloths, or hand towels. I call the front desk and I am told that they don't have any but they would try and scrape some up. I was brought towels but it left me wondering if they were clean and where they got them from if they didn't have any. Then when I went to get into the bed, it was gritty. It looked like salt was all over the bed, in the sheets. Called the front desk again and was told there was not another room. I asked for new sheets and was told they didn't have any clean ones but would see what they could find. They did bring me new sheets but I had to unmake and remake the bed myself. The next night I was at the front desk to get some snacks and a guy in front of me asked for some toliet paper because his room was out. He was told "I'm sorry I don't know where the toliet paper is. Sorry for any inconvenience." He took it well but I felt bad for him. Having no toliet paper is more than an inconvenience. When I got my bill the last morning, it looked fine. A couple of days later I was overcharged. I called and was told I was charged for a pet. I didn't have a pet. My parents had a dog but I didn't. Now, the lady I spoke with was very nice and refunded me but it shouldn't have happened anyway. What if that extra charge caused me to be short in my account? Anyway, I will never stay there again. Maybe it was a really bad weekend for them but I won't...
Read moreMostly alright. This was our first experience with a TownePlace Suites, as when we were looking for somewhere to stop earlier on the day of it was the best option in town. Staff was a bit short, didn't tell us anything about amenities or anything upon check-in. She asked for the last name, then once she saw ID handed us a packet that was already made that had everything we needed and told us to have a good night. Alright... Once we get up to the room, it's "clean enough". The fridge, though nice to have, looked like it hadn't been wiped off in ages, fingerprints all over. Also, the salt shakers were oddly sticky, alright... One of the pillows had a tiny stain, though in their defense it seemed to be a stain that probably would not come out with any amount of effort. Speaking of the pillows, they sucked. For that, we went back out to the car and brought in our own nice ones. Well, when packing up in the morning we forgot them in the room. A couple days later we realized and called them up, and Porsche at the front desk was awesome, but she couldn't do anything herself about it as she needed the manager to, and she was not there at the time. She apparently told the manager to call us at a certain time to arrange whatever to get them sent to us, but this never happened. Random gripe, but if you need to use their complimentary computer/printer, don't plan on it. Their software seems well over a decade old, and you can't open gmail because gmail recognizes their version of Internet Explorer as unsecure.
Despite all this, the hotel still gets 4 stars. The location was great, most things went smoothly, and really it's still not even close to many much worse hotel experiences you could have. Plus, I feel that even having not tried any other hotels in town this is likely still one...
