Mattress Firm Dothan — Hotel in Dothan

Purchased two (2) Serta Kozma Twin XL Mattresses from MattressFirm in Dothan, AL. During the sale the salesman said many time if we find a better price else ware, let them know and they will refund the difference. I went home, went on the MattressFirm web site and realized I paid over $70 more than the web purchase. The salesman said he would refund the difference (which they did 3 weeks later). I then went to a local competitor and found the same mattresses for over $300 cheaper. I went back to the salesman and he told me they were not the same mattresses. He said the memory gel was "better" on his model. A little background here, Serta make mattresses and different retailers put different names on the SAME mattress. This is the case here. MattressFirm named the Serta Mattress "Kozma" where other places named it "Kellerman". It is the SAME Mattress. I even called Serta Corporate and they confirmed. I commented to the salesman that it would be more advantages for me to give MattressFirm the $79 to come and get their mattresses and then purchase them at the other retailer. The sales guy called me "an extortionist" and I politely said it was about getting the best price on the SAME mattress. Once I mentioned (in email traffic) that I would be contacting Serta Corporate to see if the were the SAME Mattress, the salesman said they would refund me $300 more on the sale (which they did 3 weeks later). Here is what MattressFirm WON'T tell you. They will only match ADVERTISED prices of their competitors. They will not honor quotes. The ONLY advantage to purchasing a mattress from MattressFirm is that you can give them $79 to come and get the mattress if you absolutely hate it. Here is my advice. DO YOUR HOME WORK. Compare the specs of the mattress you want and then shop around. On a good note (hence the 2 Stars), we LOVE the mattress. Very comfortable and this is a customer that was sleeping on a Tempurpedic. 4 Stars for the Mattress. 1 Star for my sales experience averages to 2 Stars. The sales man in the Dothan, AL store was great he helped my wife and choose the correct mattress and we were happy with the delivery date, with that being said the week before the delivery i had received two text messages from the warehouse and two phone calls to confirm the delivery of our mattress, base and the FRIO mattress cover. We were ready to receive the delivery and when the truck backed into our drive we were excited to finally get our new mattress, when the delivery guy handed me the mattress cover he said thanks and was ready to leave. I asked him about the mattress and base and he had no idea what i was talking about, someone in the warehouse didn't do their job and didn't load the mattress or base they sent a 28 foot box truck to deliver a 5 pound box now we are having to wait to receice our mattress and base because the people that scheduled deliveries cant take the time to read delivery manifests and load the proper places even after the system tells them what is supposed to be delivered and when. Don't you have it when a sales person acting like a used car sales person m, and want let you be I do!!! I went in to just to get an idea on the type of mattress I'd be interested in buying. I was greeted and I said I just wanted to look around. He said take your time and if I can help let me know. After going through the whole store I called him over for a few questions. He was very helpful and went above and beyond to get me the answers I wanted. I left the store with a mattress, box spring, frame, sheets and pillows. I was only looking for a mattress for research, but with the help and getting it my, I had to make a purchase and got accessories also. Thanks for the time to shop without you and especially for helping me even though I wasn't going to purchase today.
