Today we decided to try “COOKOUT” for the first time here in Dothan AL. The food was fresh not too expensive either .. HOWEVER those drive thru employees are so rude - mid way through my order they just stopped responding to me -& claimed they didn’t know we had two trays after LITERALLY Taking my order for “my second tray” that they never actually put in the order for like huhh ?? but asked me if that would be all WHEN I was literally ORDERING “THE SECOND TRAYY”& then when we got to the window they caught an attitude when I asked about the second tray & acted as if they could not hear me ..I then just went inside to order after I seen that they didn’t have my order right via drive thru & I was greeted when walking in & the employees at the front were such better with their customer service :also friendly & made sure I didn’t have any issues with placing my order .

Saw this new spot driving by this afternoon, so decided to try it for dinner later in the day. Looked it up online to see that they’re listed as open until 2am on Google (nice, we need more places open late!). Drove twenty minutes across town at 9:30pm to see them in fact NOT open until 2am - completely closed. No where else open this late anywhere besides Taco Bell and Sonic. Menu online also has no prices and not much other info on their website, but was willing to try it out regardless. Disappointing start.

The quesadilla was paper-thin and the claim that it was chicken and cheese was a vast over-exaggeration. Maybe they sprinkle ramen chicken flavor in there. Who knows. It didn’t taste horrible but it was mostly shell. The four onion rings were decent. The burger was good. I think for the cheap prices it’s good for a quick meal for a good price, just don’t expect anything extravagant or rememberable.

We were so disappointed in our meal. The young gentleman that took our order was welcoming and polite. But the loud, not friendly lady next to him was obnoxious and unprofessional. The food was not appetizing what so ever. I ordered the $7.99 Tray. I chose the big double with cheese. It was literally the same hamburger you get from a gas station. No flavor, microwaved gut bomb. For my 2 sides I chose the Cajun fries and onion rings. They were o.k. My wife ordered the $7.99 Tray also. With the BBQ sandwich. It tasted like week old oven roasted pulled pork with a drop of ketchup. She chose the hush puppies and chili as her 2 sides. The hush puppies were o.k. And the chili was exactly like Krystal’s Needless to say this was a one and done...

I really enjoy the Cookout here in Dothan. The food is fantastic and the variety is one of the best things about this place. I’ve tried a lot of items on the menu and honestly haven’t had anything bad — everything tastes great.

The only downside is the drive-thru service. Almost every time I go, I get cut off while ordering and the tone of the staff is rude and not considerate. It really takes away from the experience. If they put the right person at the window or worked on customer service a bit more, this location would easily be a five-star spot for me.

Great food, but the drive-thru could use a major...
