Panera Bread — Restaurant in Rockaway Township

Stopped in the afternoon for a quick lunch with my mom.. While trying to navigate the easy order kiosk we must have accidentally ordered an extra sandwich. As were waiting for our lunch the manager, Pat comes over to inform me they no longer have the Poppyseeds dressing.. Being vegan i knew this was a go to option for me and was left a little frazzled on my next choice. I let Pat know my concerns about a dairy, egg free dressing and he came back to me with numerous options and even the ingredient book to ensure my worries.. Amazing. Then, once the food came we realized we accidentally ordered the second sandwich and again, Pat was quick to get it handled and refunded for us.. As a manager in a similar setting I truly appreciate Pats attentiveness, patience, and knowledge on customer service as well as being a team player. In our short stay I watched Pat play every role, from greeting customers, running food and even clearing and cleaning tables. Would also like to show thanks to the young lady with dark black hair and the touch of nice makeup under her eye, she was also extremely sweet and helpful. I have never taken the time to write a review like this before but really wanted to show appreciation and gratitude for these employees for going the extra mile! One of the worst experiences at an eatery. I walk in @ around 10:30am two people are behind the register I guess prepping. Finally the woman comes to the register with a look as if I'm bothering her. She takes my order. I then sit and wait in an area with signage saying something like "Rapid Food Orders". I wait and wait. Another man goes to the counter and says I'm in a rush where's my salad. He waits and waits.

There's only 3 names on the screen and I'm 2 of them. They call me for one of my orders. I then explain I have another plain bagel with butter. This is where it gets worst. There's 4 people I can see in the food preparation area. A man who looks like a manger. A man who gives the food out. A woman who is doing prep. And a woman who's preparing meals. They're all in a deep argument about where to take breaks, for how long and who goes first. Prep girl argues with give food out guy about how long prep takes in other locations. Make meals girl argues why she can't eat where she wants. All the while I just want my order to be completed.

I give it 3 stars because I like their coffee & I go in with a travel container & order myself. Otherwise you have to stand at the register until someone finally takes your order. Then wait too long for your food. Also and I know this is maybe being petty. As I was just getting to the door to go in. A petite younger girl comes out & just let's the door slam with me standing there. Come to find out, she is the runner for the curb side. Sorry but I was told growing up to hold the door for someone when they are coming up to it. And BTW complaining about that isn't being pompous. That is called a lesson on courtesy. Don't know how to add a new review so I guess I have add to this one. Changed my review to 1 star due to they are supposed to open at 8 and there is a sign on the door that says opens at 10. REALLY?! How about not letting people get to your door only to find out you don't open when you are supposed to. Done with...
