The place was filthy. We have stayed here several times over the last few years, it was never "great" but it was clean & well kept (for an aging property) as well as could be expected. It seems as though each time we've stayed, it's gotten a bit worse. This time, we were pleased to see that the completely worn out (and torn) arm chair that was present in previous rooms we've occupied is gone, but not happy that it wasn't replaced with anything. Only 2 places to sit, the desk chair or the bed, not much of an option for two people (couple). The bathroom, my goodness, this was disgusting, the walls & light switches were filthy dirty (all the walls in the room were dirty) and no fan, the door had a huge rectangular repair (toward the top) and a giant crack at the base, and did I mention it was filthy? It was. The bottle of hair conditioner was almost empty, luckliy the "holder" was in such poor repair that I was able to easily remove it from the wall, unscrew the pump and bang enough out of the bottle to finish my hair washing. The hand lotion located by the sink had a clump of left over dried up lotion at the opening, but was so dirty on the top (pump) that I wouldn't have wanted to touch it anyway. The interior of the front door was not only dirty, but was scraped up with much of the paint removed at the lower 25% of it. Key cards would work intermittently, even after replacing BOTH of them twice. A side note, when the agent was activating replacement cards for us, she went through several of them (sliding in and out of a scanning machine) before she came up with two that she seemed to be happy with, seemed odd to me that even she was seeming to have difficulty. We went to the desk if we needed anything because there was no way we were about to touch that phone.... no idea what was on it, but it was gross. The hallway had 2 separate piles of garbage/laundry that remained for the entire time (2 days) we were present. Breakfast?? really? White bread, English muffin or bagel. Cheerios or fruit loops, one flavor of not very cold yogurt, a bit concerned to eat this due to the temperature it's being kept at. Apple or some very strange tasting orange juice? Very bruised bananas and waffles - note there was no non-stick spray available to use on the waffel iron, so pry those suckers off when they're done … but, no sugar free syrup, actually no SF anything so I guess they don’t want people with dietary issues (ie: diabetic) You get what you pay for but this is ridiculous, this place has gone from mediocre to tolerable and now disgusting. Too bad I can't attach photos, I took plenty. I will give credit for the bed, pillows & towels; beds were comfortable, pillows were good & towels were thicker and of better quality than I expected. Checking In: I received an email to check in online, which I did, after I completed it, I received the message to simply pick up my room key upon arrival.... what was the point of doing all this? I had to show my license upon check in, list my car details (again) & provide a credit card (again).... what was the point of checking in online?? I'll tell you, none. ONE more thing, the pictures that are on Expedia (and other sites) of the lobby & rooms, are NOT what the current Lobby or room looks like - very deceiving. Never...
Read moreIf I could make it a zero I would. I checked in pretty late, around 11:00 p.m. My reservation was made at least 2 weeks prior to my visit. I was forced to pay for the room, about 9:00 a.m. that day. When I got there, I went to the room and immediately noticed there was all kinds of things wrong with it. The mirror had smudges all over it, the sink had not been wiped out, there was black on the sink that I was able to easily wipe off. The bedding on both of the beds needed to be stripped completely down, all the way to the fitted sheet. Surprisingly those were the only things that were worth salvaging on the bed. They were pretty decent. The rest of the linen was either / or with burn holes, dirt, pen marks, a brown line across the top of the comforter where you put your face. All sorts of filth. I proceed to the bathroom. Where my daughter had just used the toilet. And I noticed there is urine on the underside of the seat. And a rim of dried urine where the toilet seat and toilet bowl meet. On the back side of the toilet, where the seat attaches to the toilet, there's all sorts of dirt and pubic hair and more dried urine. The floor had not been swept or mopped. It was sticky with every step I took. One of the towels that was folded up, and put up on the shelf, had dirt all over it, where it had been folded and creased, on both sides it was dirty. I will be attaching photos for proof. When I told the front desk about the linen, they gave me a whole bunch of sheets, but they had no extra blankets. They had one blanket which my daughter had to use. And my husband and I had no blanket. We just had a bunch of sheets. Again, we were forced to pay for the room early in the morning because they were booking up, and by 9:00 a.m. there were four rooms left. So in order to secure our room, which we had reserved in over two weeks in advance, we had to pay for it by 9:00 a.m. They did not offer us to stay in another room. |I have since been in contact, via email only, by the locations assistant manager. They are offering me a 25% discount. I would never stay in that hotel again if they paid me. But they want to offer me 25% back on what I paid. Because I used the room. That is why they cannot give me a refund. I have no choice but to stay in that room, they already charged me for it, at 9:00 a.m., so therefore I was locked in. This is by far the worst day I have ever had at a hotel. I will never go back there. I hope anyone who reads this has enough sense not to stay there either. The rooms are nasty, the hotel is run down, the linen is torn, burn, stained, and the carpeting as well as the rest of the building needs to be ripped out and torn down. Do not waste your money staying here. And especially do not use your Wyndham points. I regret the fact that I used my Wyndham points...
Read moreI've been staying here for the past week and a half, all but one night, and my stay was fair up until about Tuesday night. Things began to go down hill quickly after that culminating in the incident this morning that essentially obliterates all other pleasant experiences I had before.
I wake up this morning, Thanksgiving day, to find the power out in some of my room. I walk out of my room and see the fire flood lights and the hall lights are on. So, I ask the front desk clerk what is happening. They tell me there is a power outage and that the assistant manager will be coming in to find out what is happening. Several hours and several status inquiries later, I am wanting to shower, shave, and check out of the room but in order to do that I'm going to have to shower/shave in the dark, and probably have to take a cold shower.
The assistant manager, Jose, is as inhospitable as they come (e.g. a previous day clerk had been making sure I got the best rate everyday and he has told me that I could get these same rates over the holiday but he forgot to note my account and went on vacation, so when Jose was asked if he would honor the rate he refused and I booked my stay through Expedia. I ended up paying less than I was told the rate would have been had he honored the rate I was quoted.) making no apologies for the lack of sufficient backup power to hotel, offering no significant reparations (a 10% discount on the room if staying over - that just eliminates the tourist trap taxes on these rooms), and taking no actions but accusatory ones even suggesting that I am a guest looking for a handout - I guess the irony of his refusal from the night before was lost on him. Ramada customer service wasn't much better though. A supervisor going by the name of Kim actually told me that if I wanted to resolve it complain about the issues that I was having at the hotel, then I should call the power company. Now, I don't give a damn if it is a power company issue or not, a customer service rep, much less a supervisor, does not say that to someone. Since she did, I did call the power company and I am now awaiting an official statement regarding the outage and when normal business resumes I'm going to be sure to contact the appropriate inspectors, code enforcement authorities, and health officials to determine whether the business is in compliance with the...
