12 July 2023 - 3 Stars First time at this brand (ever).
We arrived at 9:00p and the place was VERY dark inside the restaurant. They had half the window shades down. The other half were up. The sun had set, but there was still an evening glow, and the surrounding parking lights, etc. made it brighter outside than inside. The black painted ceiling did not help the feeling of being in a cave.
The interior decor was extremely worn and had a feel of neglect. While the tables and floor were clean, the appearance gave another feeling.
The women's redtroom was out of service. The men's redtroom allowed for only one person at a time. This ended up being a good thing because the men and women all lined up for the one stall.
The menu boards are descriptive and helped in deciding what to order. I got the chicken and waffles. My wife got the grilled cheese and bisque. The grilled cheese was the BEST thing we had. We'd both come back just for that, and we will. It was tasty and filling. In talking with the staff, we later found out you can order just the sandwich and not get the bisque. Neither of us are big tomato soup fans, but we found the texture and taste of this item off-putting. The chicken and waffles were good. The chicken was pounded thin and fried nicely. The waffle was nice, and the maple syrup was good as well We then order dessert, the banana fosters. It was again a croissant based waffle (like the grilled cheese). We both enjoyed it very much.
On a side note, I did not understand why when an order is ready, they call out everything that was ordered rather than just the customer's name. They have the name from the debit/credit card transaction. It takes MUCH longer to call out 9 items (there was a large group just before us), and the confusion could get extreme with any size crowd.
While not highly impressed with our first visit (at this one particular location), we saw other items on the menu we'd like to try. Besides, how do you beat a great grilled cheese.
Spent $44.68 (including tax & tip). I wish I had a...
Read moreWe came here Sunday morning to grab some brunch for family we were visiting. We LOVE Waffle Love in American Fork but..I have absolutely no good things to write about Waffle Love Draper. We arrived and there wasn’t a single customer in the dining area but almost every table was covered in garbage, syrup, or some other form of a spill. We decided to try and use the kiosk to order ourselves since the five staff members were much to busy jamming with their headphones in, eating assortments of waffles and play wrestling with each other to notice we were waiting for their assistance. After not being able to find the seasonal waffles on the kiosk we decided to ask a work who very rudely shouted “It’s not on there!” So we asked if we can just order at the counter. The cashier didn’t speak hardly any English and struggled through the entire order. The moment we ordered the seasonal waffle the rude girl shouted “No! We don’t have that one!” My husband was very patient with them and finally was able to place our order. After waiting, I will say a not very long amount of time, they called our name and only had two of the waffles. We then struggled to communicate that we had ordered and paid for a total of four waffles. They added another waffle and yet again they struggled to understand we had ordered and paid for four waffles. The cashier who wasn’t able to speak English motioned for help from one of the other employees while he kept trying to out his AirPods back in and the girl came back to the front, visibly and audibly frustrated with us and the cashier, and said “Nope you only ordered three and was only charged for three but i guess I’ll give it to you free.” Overall worst experience at a Waffle Love we’ve ever had. Never going back to this location...
Read moreThe blonde girl at the register should learn her place. They closed the grill 45 minutes before the store closed and denied us our order. I was about to tip her and the cook in the back 20 each for working on valentines for us and they didn’t hesitate to show how uncaring they were lmao. I’ve worked plenty of fast food jobs and I know it takes 5 minutes to clean a grill. AND we still could order the things we wanted on door dash, cause policy is stated on there that the grill menu stops being available 15 minutes before closed, not FOURTY FIVE. Place is great, they deserve good reviews, but the two girls scheduled 2/14 need to be talked to they actually just ruined my girls night.
Not to mention how we sat there for 10 minutes before they asked for our order while we were the only people in line. I bet while they were cleaning the grill after we had already been in the store.
And I have to say, working fast food, I’m not a customer who comes in 5 minutes before close. Or a customer that complains about a one off bad experience. But im in the parking lot and can literally see the employees standing around. And denying every customer while not respecting the company that pays them. These kids are actively losing money for the business.
I’ll be happy to delete my bad review completely if I get some confirmation that the ungrateful kids get retaught...
