Rumbi Island Grill — Restaurant in Draper

While living in Draper, I always found my visits to Rumbi Island grill to be worth while and fulfilling. Over the years, I've visited Rumbi Island Grill for both lunch and dinner, and I am never disappointed. My meals from Rumbi always leave me full, due to their high quality, delicious food and outstanding portion sizes. The chicken and rice are always perfectly cooked, and their sauces are always so rich in flavor. At Rumbi, I always feel I am getting my moneys worth with every bite. Their bowls are always filled full and the ratio of each ingredient is perfect. Rumbi is an establishment that I have recommended to many of my freinds, and it is the first place I took my friend from out of state to enjoy a meal I knew would be perfect. My visits to Rumbi island grill truly are a pleasure, and I believe I have confidently learned just how much Rumbi island grill values their costumers. Rumbi has consistency provided me with excellent service. I am always kindly greeted upon entering and employees even recognized me as a regular, and memorized my order. Furthermore, the service at Rumbi is always very speedy, and I never find myself frustrated at the wait time. Food always comes out hot and ready. I can always trust Rumbi employees to get my order fast and correct. Ordered a Chicken and Rumbi rice with teriyaki sauce for a party this evening. The party pack description states this plater would feed 6-8 people. First let me say the flavor of the sauce was great, chicken was a little dry but that's typical and the veggies were cooked great, soft but not to soft. The only problem with this $60 platter was that there was only enough chicken to feed maybe 3 people (small general serving size) veggies maybe enough for 5 people and enough rice to feed 20 people with easily 3-4 servicings left over. It was packed perfectly to make you think there was a nice generous amount of each ingredient. 3 stars for flavor and the fact that the catering staff was very friendly and prompt. If you're going to make a party platter with the cheapest filler, rice and beans, maybe have the price reflect that of a platter of just rice and beans and call it what it is. I will not be ordering...

Service was great. People were friendly and food was delivered quickly. Manager was outgoing and helpful. The cashier originally rang up my order wrong, but she wasn't irritated when I called her on it, and she fixed it quickly. Food was warm enough, and the portions were good, but the quality was only average. I ordered the mango chicken, but it was somewhat dry and did not taste like mango in the slightest. I mean not at all. The rice was just rice, and the beans were just beans, even though they were labeled as "cabo style". They were supposed to include bacon, but the amount of actual bacon was microscopic. It all tasted fine, but that may be because I went all in on the sauce (delivered on the side).
