Holiday Inn Express and Suites Dry Ridge, an IHG Hotel — Hotel in Dry Ridge

We arrived on Monday & they had just opened on Friday. The pool & fitness area were closed & no one knew when they would open. It was frustrating that no one felt the need to mention this to us at check in, as we were staying 4 nights with two kids. BUT they did offer for us to swim at the hotel next door & then, as luck would have it, that pool closed. My kids love the breakfast but things weren't always working (pancake maker) or weren't available (bottles of milk, refilling the pancake mix, bringing out more omelets, coffee condiments, etc.). The attendants seemed more concerned with closing the breakfast area vs getting the food out until the actual close time. One even shouted to another in the back to start the dishes, when they should have instructed them to bring out more food. The room was nice. We enjoyed the pull out sofa and extra space. The plugins and charger ports in-between the beds didn't have any power to them. Probably a small oversight with being a new hotel. The bed was a little too firm for me to sleep well but I was also frustrated about the pool situation. I had planned this trip specifically to enjoy the pool with my kids. We recently stayed there for a family trip/reunion and we were beyond impressed with our experience. Before we even arrived to check in, their team was already assisting us as a WalMart+ order arrived earlier than anticipated. They called us to ask for the code and kept it at the front desk until we arrived. We were always greeted warmly and the team was always ready to assist with anything we needed, from helping look for a lost cellphone, to special requests at breakfast, to helping with a family gathering we hosted at the hotel itself. I've been fortunate to travel the world both personally and professionally and have stayed at some really nice hotels. This was an easy top 5 stay for me, based on their service alone. Outside of that, the facilities / rooms were always kept clean, the location was great for what we needed (close proximity to the ARK). Having conveniences like WalMart, SBux etc. within minutes was an added bonus. I know our family especially loved the pool area as well. Thank you Risa and team for making our trip an easily...

My mom reserved this amazing hotel so that we could visit the ark encounter. It was less than 10 minutes away!! Beautiful seating areas in the lobby. Phenomenal staff. Would that being said, I need to give a gigantic praise and recognition for the staff and the housekeeping department!!!! ... I had gotten in a hurry to check out on time... So I had forgotten my toiletry bag in the bathroom. I didn't realize this until I was back home, 6 hours away!!! My mom called them immediately. And thankfully they had found my bag! I had some very sentimental items and skin Care in this travel bag so it was very valuable for me to try getting back! All I had to do was set up the shipping label online and email it to the hotel.
