Happy Dragon — Restaurant in Dry Ridge

My family and I recently moved to Dry Ridge Ky from the Florence area. We eat out about every Friday. We found the Happy Dragon this past summer. It's a small buffet and located in an older building. But the food is always great and the owner and staff are wonderful. The first time we came in my wife was pregnant with our son and we literally walked in 10 minutes to close. The owner had the staff make us hot and fresh foods for the buffet We stayed talking to her til almost 30 minutes after close. And were given take home boxes as well. We hadn't been there in close to 6 months after our son was born. We came back in tonight and the owner still remembered us. You won't find this home town feeling ANY where else you go to eat. Now it's more expensive than say McDonald's or Wendy's. But not anymore than any other Chinese food restaurant I have been too. The building again is old but the restaurant is clean. As for the reviews saying their were bugs running around the buffet. I work in the food industry. If there was bugs crawling around at all especially around the food. The health department would of shut them down long ago. I enjoy my time there and very glad we have found the Happy Dragon and the owner and staff. Thank you for such great hospitality,...

Well this is the worst Chinese food we have ever had in my life! And my family is a fan of chinese food and have a lot of experience regarding Chinese food! We ordered from the take-out menu and you can tell it came from the buffet and it was not like we ordered. the food was cold, the "fried" rice tasted like steamed...half cooked rice...only with a different color! The shrimp dish had 3 pieces of shrimp and the noodles barely had any meat in it! All in all,this food had no flavor or taste to claim it was chinese food of any sort! Tons of soy sauce was added and was still horrible so we had to toss the whole thing out! Do yourself a huge favor and don't waste your money! Obviously some people who have no idea how to cook "Chinese" food is doing the cooking here! I can't believe how any business like this can even survive! Oh, they even have a drive-thru,,!! We drove into the parking lot and at first glance this place doesn't look like much.building is older and needs abit of love. Once inside the staff was AMAZING,very happy and very attentive...just great service. The food options are not many but what they have is done extremely well.. awesome taste,very fresh and just a great meal. Prices are fair,I wasnt aware that the drinks(soda) where charged separate but non the less at that point it didnt matter since our party of 8 was very satisfy with the meal . I highly recommend this location. We visited the Ark encounter and didnt want to try there buffet(food didnt look appetizing) but where extremely happy and satisfy with legend...
