Long time Hilton Honors member - First visit to Durango. We chose Homewood because we wanted a hotel offering larger rooms and relaxation space. This hotel fit the bill perfectly. My wife and I were very pleased. The hotel is well-located within a short few miles of downtown Durango. The hotel has a welcoming interior and appeared very clean as was our third floor room. The cleaning woman was highly attentive and very much appreciated! When additional soap was requested, it was delivered almost immediately. Service is very important to me and I believe this is stressed by this hotel location. The hallways were bright and particularly well-lit unlike other hotels we have visited. Our first Wednesday night; a light meal and drinks were provided. Perfect touch after driving in from Albuquerque. The breakfast options each morning were fresh, healthy, delicious, and were being constantly refilled. I enjoyed the hearty whole wheat bread! The countertops were kept spotlessly clean. A fan of oatmeal, I enjoyed how the oatmeal and cream of wheat, were alternated each morning. That was a welcome first for this nearly twenty year Honors member. I must take time to especially recognize the two women (names unknown) working in the breakfast area. Both were friendly, smiling, easy to speak with, and eager to help. I would rate their efforts as best of the best! Please let them know their efforts were very appreciated!!!!Thank-you! One item, please consider including a low-fat...
Read moreWe were given this hotel as one of two choices by the company my husband was doing business with. We're so glad we chose this place. The staff here are amazing and go above and beyond to make your stay wonderful. The rooms are very clean. We had a couch, two chairs, desk and two queen beds and it was really roomy, even with a kitchenette and bathroom. The beds are very comfortable and you'll get a good night's sleep. You don't hear noises from the hallway, rooms next to you or the highway. It really is a peaceful place to stay. The pool and hot tub were the cleanest we've seen in a hotel, and we always stay in nice places, so this immediately caught our attention. Please don't forget to pack your swimwear, you'll want it. For those that need to have an extended stay, they do have a laundry room so you won't need to pack a lot and the laundry room is just as clean as the rest of the hotel. The rooms have a refrigerator, mini-dishwasher, double stove top, pots, pans and utensils so you are able to cook if you wish to. If you don't want to cook, they do have a large selection of breakfast foods, both warm and cold, to satisfy any tastes. The dinner in the evening is just as good. When we were here, the breakfast and dinner were both complimentary. (Things change fast in business so I don't know if that is still the case, so please check.) We definitely will stay here again...
Read moreFor one night is pretty nice, its new, nice staff of primarily young men, good bed. I have stayed on 3 different weeks and the room got worse to where they didn't change sheets, vaccuum daily or clean mold in shower -- there was no tub. Free dinner 4x/week sounds good, but it is the nastiest frozen food from Sysco or similar. Breakfast alot better, but coffee was never hot, most days I had to put cranberry juice on cereal. Frozen food they sell has been thawed somewhere along the way. OF note this is HILTON's lowest entry, and it shows in the furniture, which is make cheap IKEA look well built. In about a year it will all start falling apart. Already in the lobby the bottom is starting to fall out of the chair.
Most offensive was even at 28 days I was carded at the front desk as a stranger if I need a new key. Its clear where the indifference comes from.... "BE AT HOME" is the slogan.
GM was really a dissappointment, when confronted with this -- it was all denial and explanation. He hid in office, did not call until forced, by my employer, his biggest client. . He finally agree to do some laundry, and then even put six diet cokes in my refrigerator. and then WOW, and 80K HILTON points which won't even cover a room Really quite contemptable.
I am coming back to Durango for several more work weeks, will stay at Holiday...
