When we arrived at this hotel at 530 pm on 9/20/2024, we were assigned a room and went up to the room and the door was propped open and it was not cleaned or ready. We politely asked the housekeeping staff who was a female with glasses and male with glasses who very rudely stated to my fiancé and I "we gave that girl downstairs a list of rooms that were ready and so no we aren't done with it. i don't know what to tell you!" I went back to the front desk to inquire about the confusion. She very politely and profusely apologized to us for the room not being ready and the horrible rudeness we received from the housekeepers. She then showed me the list that was given to her from housekeeping as the room she had given to us was on the list of "ready rooms" from housekeeping. She then notified us that she did not have any other rooms to switch us to. I had a company meeting I had to attend at 6pm so i told her i would go change clothes and leave our bag in the room and they would be able to finfish the room. We went back up to the room and proceeded to notify the original housekeeper female and she as well as a different female housekeeper dressed in all black again very rudely stated to us "we will get to it when we get to it, we are short staffed so i don't know what to tell you". I politely responded that i was just letting them know that we will be leaving shortly and going to leave the bag and then they could finish when i was interrupted for the girl in black to say "its your room you can do what you want!" I changed and left for my meeting. Upon our return approx. 830pm, we come to the room that STILL HAD NOT BEEN CLEANED AND THE BED NOT MADE! The front desk clerk was the same from earlier that evening and i expressed to her that the room was still not cleaned and bed not made. She was obviously very upset that this had happened to us and offered herself to go up and clean the room and make the bed. I refused for her to do this as truly this should have been done by housekeeping and was not her responsibility. She even stated to me that the original housekeeper threatened her on the jobsite after she had confronted her about the treatment of us! I was provided with a clean set of sheets and i HAD TO MAKE THE BED MYSELF! I am a traveling RN and stay in hotels every other week for the entire year in cities all over the state and this customer service was the WORST i have ever dealt with!!! I would never recommend this hotel to anyone i know. As for the room itself, overall it was dirty, dusty, hard mattress, cracked screen on the TV, and on top of everything else the hot tub was broken. We had originally planned to stay 2 nights and decided to leave that next morning and stay somewhere else due to horrifying experience we received. This hotel does not deserve the 3 stars it has. The ONLY good experience we received was from the front desk clerk who was very polite and apologetic for our experience and strongly encouraged us to reach out to Janean "the manager". Overall and horrible stay and we will never...
Read moreSave yourself stress and avoid this hotel at all costs!!! There are better hotels that treat their guests with respect. Book the Hampton by Hilton instead.
Durango was the location for a stopover in a cross-country move. I booked a pet-friendly room months in advance because I knew that it was tourist season in Colorado and I needed to make sure that I had somewhere to sleep with a small during to rest for the remainder of long drive. I also requested a late check in since I knew I’d be arriving at night after a 18 hour drive.
I was two hours from the hotel, exhausted and ready to sleep for the night. My phone rings and I see it’s a Colorado number so I am assuming it’s the hotel calling to confirm the registration. It was the hotel, however, they were not calling to confirm my reservation - they were calling to CANCEL!!
I am shocked, so I ask why they cancelled. The very rude and dismissive front desk person told me they did not have any pet friendly rooms available so they need to cancel. I asked them how they could not have any pet friendly rooms when I specifically called them months ago to make sure that they would. The rude person gave me a non-answer by responding that they simply did not have the room. I asked the rude person if he would at least help me find an alternative place to stay. He responded by saying that I could go to Wyndham’s website and book one of their hotels. I responded with 1.) I am driving a large moving vehicle and cannot access a hotel’s website while driving, and 2.) asking if this would be in Durango as that is where I was planning to stop over. He rudely dismissed me and said that the website would answer my questions, clearly not even listening to me. I asked for his name, he would not give it. I asked to speak with his manager as I wanted the hotel to pay the difference in their rate vs my last-minute accommodation. He gave me the name “Tiffany” and disconnected the line. I called the hotel back several times and no one will answer. This hotel does not care about their guests. It is by far the most unprofessional hotel staff I have ever had the misfortune to encounter.
So, without a hotel to stay in (despite booking it months in advance), I call family who are not driving to find hotels for me. They found me a room at Hampton by Hilton and the treatment I received at that hotel was so friendly, kind, professional, and respectful. Hilton listened to my situation and even offered to wave the pet fee. In short, I received the opposite treatment than I did with La Quinta by Windham.
Summary: DO NOT BOOK THE LA QUINTA BY WINDHAM. YOUR CONFIRMATION MEANS NOTHING AND THEY WILL OVERSELL YOUR ROOM. THE STAFF IS...
Read moreI visited this hotel on Wednesday 6/2/2021. I was working in the city of Durango with clients until after 8pm after a 6 plus hour drive into town. While attempting to get some much needed sleep, this hotels fire alarm system woke me 57 minutes after I fell asleep. I went outside in the parking lot with the rest of the guests until we were let back in. Once back in and alarm off I went back to sleep, well at least I tried to return to sleep. For over the next 3 hours until around 3am on Thursday 6/3 the fire alarm system would come and go in being very loud and on and then back off. I took myself outside and even for a drive in my vehicle at 2am in the morning to escape this matter. I called into the Hotel front desk at 2:30am where I asked who to speak with about getting a refund for my stay at this hotel due to their fire alarm issues. I was told by a female at the front desk to contact Cruz, the manager, the next morning after 10am. At 10am on Thursday 6/3 I called into the hotel and was asked to leave a message at the front desk for the manager. I did not hear back from the hotel. I next called the hotel on Friday 6/4 at 2pm. I again was asked to leave a message for the manager to return my call and what I was calling about. It is now Wednesday 6/9 and I remain without any sort of communication in reply from this business. I have reached out via email, that was returned as not a good address, via the corporate web site, the hotel web site, even on the BBB where this hotel is not listed and still nothing. While I understand things happen, as an unsatisfied customer I have the right to review a possible refund in effort of resolution. At this time, I am going to attempt a reach out further in efforts of making this matter right. Thank you Chad Julius HOTEL: La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Durango 125 Mercury Village Dr,...
