Days inn ruined our anniversary plans. Because of their refusal to take our payment after making prior arrangements, we spent our anniversary with a booking for a hot tub room sleeping in our van! After 2 days of searching, I found a hotel in the area that said.their pet restrictions were no more than 2. All others took dogs only and there were not many of those! We found this one finally and got packed and headed out. While we were at west branch checking into a super 8, we were told they only took cards and we always pay cash. Apparently these days using your card info.to secure.booking for a pay at the property no longer means pay cash?! We have done it for years!I called days inn immediately to check since the super 8 used most of the money we had on our debit card! The lady I talked to, (After explaining that we did not have enough on our card and.we had intended to pay cash) told me that they could put a hold on my card and I could.pay cash when I checked out. But they do not take cash at check in?! If they had not told me this, I had planned to cancel and make different plans- maybe even stay in the nice place we were in another night! When we arrived, the girl told.me my card had insufficient funds. I said, I know, that is why I called last night. The lady on the phone told.me they would use the card to secure the room and then I could pay cash upon checkout . She said she was leaving a note to let the people know what was arranged. After a run around with 3 of the staff. They all said they couldnt do it. With both of our.debit cards, we could pay most but after buying gas, we were about 20 bucks short . We were told that they had to have it billed on the card in case there were damages.. ( but I already gave them my card?) I asked how much they needed for a deposit and told.them that i had $800 in cash to put down!. Then I told them they could check the room before I left! They said they couldnt do that because they did not have the combination to get my money back out of.rhe safe and they didn't have the staff to check the room!!!! I am so far beyond frustrated after trying to check in, that I am hardly able to enjoy the day! I would never put myself through coming here again!!! Not that they seem to want...
Read moreAweful, do not stay! Our room was not clean. There were toe or finger nails on the bathroom floor and it was obvious that the bathroom was not cleaned well. When reporting the unsanitary bathroom, the kid behind the counter was rude and started yelling at me. It was not my fault the room was not clean and there was no need to start yelling at me. We just wanted a clean place to shower. You know, like we paid for!
An hour later, no one had not showed up to clean. I was promised they would be there right away. I had to contact the front desk yet again. They finally sent up some to clean the bathroom and she was the only one to appolize for the problem. They were so rude, it was so upsetting, it had me in tears.
I asked 3 different employees about a dozen times, to have the manager contact me. No one contacted me! They dont care about their "guests" and the problems that it causes when they don't do their jobs, like missing important appointments.
On top of everything else, lukewarm water for showers!!! We had a hot tube room but the water was too cold to enjoy that part of our room either. If you like a hot shower dont stay here. The sheets popped off the corners of the bed every 30 minutes in the night. They couldn't even get the simple comforts correct. The only nice thing I can say was the lobby coffee was good. The room coffee was terrible. It was like the coffee maker has never been cleaned.
Some of the worst service I have ever had. The only bad hotels I had ever had stayed at are Wyndham hotel chain, including bed bugs in my room in NY. I will never stay at a Wyndham hotel again. Horrible interactions and...
Read moreI stayed at the Days Inn in Traverse City and at first everything was great until I saw a cockroach climbing up my wall and killed it. The first thing I did after I packed my stuff to leave was go to the front desk and let the person working the front desk know that I had cockroaches in my room and showed him a picture and also let him know I had put a piece of paper over it so they knew where it was and could see where it was. The gentleman working was very nice and said someone would call me about possibly discounting my room or refunding the room. So I left and waited for a call which never came. So I called and left a message for someone to call me back and again no one called me back. So to this day I haven’t heard from anyone. I really thought this was a nice place to stay when visiting Traverse City until this happen. I feel that even if they weren’t going to do anything to compensate for the cockroach in my room the least they could have done was call me and apologize for what happen but nope I couldn’t even get a call back from management. I will never stay here again after what happen and the way I was treated (being ignored). To anyone who plans to stay here in the future just keep your eyes out for cockroaches crawling up and down your walls. The management did nothing…..wouldn’t even call and apologize for what happen during my shortened stay at their establishment. Very disappointed in the new owners of this Days Inn. Hope you have a better experience staying at this hotel than I did! Sincerely, Very Disappointed and...
