The Whirlpool tub was not working properly. The heater / AC unit was not working properly. I had to keep getting up in the middle of the night to unplug the unit to reset it. I tried calling the front desk but no one was available to answer. I wanted them to come into the room at the time of the issues so they could see for themselves what I was talking about. The next morning when the manager came in, I expressed to her to my concerns. I feel like she should have said "What can I do to make you stay better?" But instead, she made me feel like she didn't believe me. I asked for a refund. She says that she has to have maintenance check out everything first to make sure they are malfunctioning before she can issue a refund. I told her that I tried calling the front desk at the time of the issues and no one was available. She was friendly and did apologize and offered a discount for a future stay. She was never rude. Also, the entire hotel lost power. I again express my concern and she said that after maintenance looks at everything, she will get back with me about the refund. I called the next morning. She said that maintenance didn't find any issues and that she wouldn't be able to refund me back any money. I told her that had someone answered the phone at the time of the issues then they would have seen for themselves. Again, she made me feel like that I was lying about everything. I was persistent about the refund and ask her for the corporate number. She said that they would just send the call back to her. But finally she asked me what my expectations were. ( Paraphrasing). I told her that they should at least refund me back the difference of the cost of the upgrade for the spa tub. Offered to refund me back $15. Granted the room was $125 and we got very little sleep. Honestly, from the very first time that I told her about our concerns, we should have offered at least...
Read moreWhat you ser in the pictures is NOT what you see in the hotel! Walk in the front and this awful smell smackes you at the door....first sign i knew this wasnt gonna be good. I got to our room and trash pieces was left all over the door area walk way inside the room. Then I turned the Jets on with the tub and a HUGE GOB OF BLACK NASTY HAIR shot out of it. So had them come clean it & Didn't use any bleach cleaning spray no nothing. Then that evening I go to take a shower and whatever they did to the tub it wouldn't fill up and I played with that stupid tub for 30 min trying to get it. REMIND YOU--I'M THERE FOR MY ANNIVERSARY-- THEE only reason why I wanted to book this room was for the oversized tub...nope didn't get to even use it. The room air conditioning smelt lIke gross rotten eggs. Furniture in there had dirt on top of it and long rips in the sitting lounge chair. Bugs in the window dead along with hair and bugs laying right on top of the ac. Nothing looked dusted off in days. I will NEVER go back there. After I asked for my money back TWICE they told me no because they gave me a 20% discount when NO I GAVE MYSELF THE 20% DISCOUNT came from my code with my insurance.....oh man I was hot!! They DO NOT CARE if your stay was sucky. I still ended up paying $100 for our room. I have nothing good to say about this place other than what u see in the front lobby is NOT WHAT U GET in your room. Front lobby is all renevated and hallway carpet is freshly done too but once you open the door to your room it's complete opposite....let's just say I wouldn't even take my shoes off till bed time and when I put my feet on the floor my socks HAD to be on. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE FOR ANYONE!! They want your money and don't give 1 crap about wether your stay...
Read moreI stayed at this Best Western location last week and had such a great experience! We came into Indy for my cousins graduation and to spend time with family so we weren't at the hotel all that much.
The location is great! There's a good amount of restaurants around and the premium outlets is right across the street. It's also a short distance to downtown Columbus or Indianapolis, which is great!
The breakfast is free and was from 6 am-9 am, The food was fantastic! A few breakfast items included were: Waffles, yogurt, bagels, muffins, fresh fruits, etc. And an option of apple juice/orange juice or coffee.
The pool and fitness center were both great! Only had the opportunity to use their pool once, spent most of my mornings in the fitness center however, I do want to point out for others that it is small, and has only 4 machines (Treadmill, bike, elliptical trainer, a lat pulldown. and an exercise ball.)
Another heads up, there are no elevators but a short staircase! Less than 10 steps to go up or down if your room is on the upper level.
Our room was nice! The beds were extremely comfy along with the pillows. The wifi in our room was fast which is always convenient as two of the three guests staying in the room have summer classes and had assignments to work on during the stay.
Any housekeeping or employees we came across during the stay were extremely friendly and welcoming towards us!
Overall, if you're not looking to spend alot of money on a hotel and looking for a wonderful place to stay during your next trip to Columbus/Edinburgh/Indy, I would highly recommend this Best Western location for all your needs. I would definitely...
